ROCBuffalo Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 Don't know if you guys missed it but yeah, there was an article somewhere the other day about Leino whining about wanting to play on the PP and how he thinks he's better on the wing and didn't want to play center anymore. This is what bothers me, this team is made of people committed to the team, wherever they need. They sign this guy to a huge contract and he is complaining about everything. It is not our fault you signed a million dollar contract to play center and can't play well enough to play on our power play. Suck it up, go out there and prove yourself like every one else on this team has. He looked awful yesterday at wing as well. He just needs to stop complaining and get back to playing hockey. :wallbash:

darksabre Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I don't see any evidence that Leino is complaining.
dEnnis the Menace Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I don't see any evidence that Leino is complaining. I was thinking the same thing. Everything that I had heard and read (also up thread ;) ) said that he approached Lindy and said that he isn't contributing the way he thought he could...I think the team is still gelling...we're not even ten games into the season. put the ropes, pitchforks and torches away at least for a month!
shrader Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I don't see any evidence that Leino is complaining. Thank you for that. He says one thing and now we have to spin everything out of proportion. Like I said yesterday, he's the current whipping boy.
korab rules Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 Thank you for that. He says one thing and now we have to spin everything out of proportion. Like I said yesterday, he's the current whipping boy. I still prefer whipping Boyes.
Samson's Flow Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I still prefer whipping Boyes. but he just scored a goal last game... Down with Leino! :pirate:
qwksndmonster Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 but he just scored a goal last game... Down with Leino! :pirate: I think Korab is just having a little trouble with his spelling...
frissonic Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I think Korab is just having a little trouble with his spelling... actually, i think the real truth is that some people on the board are having difficulties with the term 'double entendre.' :D
Snowmobiler97 Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I still prefer whipping Boyes. For what? He hasn't done much wrong, leino has been the worst sabre all season so far?
korab rules Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 For what? He hasn't done much wrong, leino has been the worst sabre all season so far? It's fascinating that you think so. Please explain yourself.

For those who have latched onto the "complaining" theme: please post a link in which someone from the Sabres (not some yob from bleacher report) says anything that can support this. All that's been published that I've seen is this: "[We'll] make adjustments," Ruff said. "We have some pieces we're going to switch around. There are guys who can fit into that role. Ville [Leino] can move over [from center to left wing]. We're going to try different things." Leino skated on the left wing Monday with center Derek Roy and right winger Drew Stafford. "Actually, Ville had mentioned that he'd like to go to the wing, so it's funny how it works," said Ruff of the team's offseason acquisition. "You'd like to find a line and keep them together, that would be the thing that you would hope most. I'd like to see Roy, Leino and Stafford play together for a while and gain some chemistry. I think that's the most important part. It isn't position to position, it's leaving three individuals together for a while, and they develop some chemistry." Don't make s--- up. So, he mentioned to Lindy that he'd like to go to the wing. NOT "complained." Would you like to be labeled a "complainer" at work simply because you mentioned to your boss that you might add more value at a different assignment? If the facts don't fit your opinion -- change your opinion, or at least make it clear that it's a theory or an opinion, not a fact. Don't BS about the facts.

It seems to me that the whole 'complainer' label is based off this one little tidbit from the Buffalo News article where he suggested to Lindy that he could be more effective on the wing. Talk about a witch hunt...

It's fun to watch how quickly these things blow up around here now. Imagine how quickly one of old man PA's manufactured Lindy Ruff rants would escalate. Lindy would be serving a life sentence by now for murdering Luke Adam with that stick tap to the helmet from the rookie camp.
That Aud Smell Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 He turned Gerbe into a newt! well, at least the guy got bigger in the process. :bag:

You are right about the general hysteria phenomenon, but I believe that particular nugget was GoDD's.

I heard Lindy sodomized Leino with a pool cue from the players lounge, then made him scrub the showers with his own toothbrush naked. Lindy filmed it and posted it to youtube. Lindy joked that he was just getting Leino accustomed to the way we do things in Buffalo, but secretly, I think he enjoyed it. Leino's Finnish spirit was crushed, and he hasn't been the same player since.

waldo Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 Life can be tuff on the Lindy Go Round. Maybe he should use the Vanek approach on Leino. Get him out there on the PK point to block a few Chara slap shots then go directly to the disabled list.
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 He turned Gerbe into a newt! he got better....
Marvelo Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 I see the talent the team has this year and if I don't see great results, maybe it's Lindy. Maybe he's holding things back. How many coaches get 14 kicks at the can with no championships?
