No - we want our Wangs to really Chung tonight.

i'd go for the feng shui option, if for no other reason than i don't want to reference one-hit wonders when karma chameleoning the team.

so ... she was an "every hit wonder"?

Working in the national media is a high stress environment - can you blame her for kicking back with a few Coronas and some rocks after work?

Damn those hipster bars and their open air bathrooms!

It is all about linewates IMO. Leino can hold the puck in the zone and does.

Ennis and Boyes have failed to get inside.

Leino plays one shift with Pominville. Pominville gets inside. Goal.

What did you think about that?

Sample size too small..

As far as Leino goes, I'm willing to give this team and the coaches and Leino himself the benefit of the doubt. For now...

I understand, but Enroth is starting to develop a body of work to the point where someone would take a shot at him as a starter soon. You get a capable backup in return. That difference plus a Sekera and Adam gets you the top line center...if someone bites.

I don't think anyone would take a shot at Enroth as a starter "soon". Maybe if he gets ~15 solid starts in by the deadline, and a team is desperate with a starting goalie lost to injury.... Otherwise, he's got a year left on his contract after this season, so maybe over the offseason. My point is that I don't think he's raising any serious eyebrows yet.

They're probably just laughing at Jaromir Jagr.

Well done, you made him score a pair of goals. :wallbash:

He's been in camp and in every practice. He hasn't been sitting home drinking beers, eating donuts and watching the Sabres through Gamecenter. C'mon now man. And Ellis is what he is. Plays hard, good by the boards, holds onto the puck well, but "beast".... he is not.

Haha. Couldn't have said it better myself.

...this guy started the season as a Red Wing and performed so poorly despite being given ample opportunity to do otherwise, he was traded for the human equivalent of a bag of pucks (OK, it was Ole-Kristian Tollefson) may sting just a bit if you're a Detroit fan.

Things didn't immediately come up roses for Leino in Philly, either.

In and out of the line-up the rest of the regular season, Leino wasn't even on the bench by the time the playoffs started.

Leino appears to be slow to adjust to new environments, both with the Red Wings and Flyers. Let's hope that's all this is.

I think Leino made a good play after making a bad play seconds before. At $6 million dollars he should be making teammates better not having the coach trying to find line-mates that make him better.

Are we going to start using the salary structured numbers? Or can we use cap hits?

You know the difference. Not every visitor here does.

Cap numbers. That's the *only* number that actually matters with an owner that is willing to spend.

With large front loaded contracts the actual dollar amount is more relevant considering the likelihood of that player finishing that contract with that team.

So in three years you are going to be talking about Kovy's 12 Million dollar contract?

C'mon man. You know how it works. It's a 4.5 cap hit. No need to be polemical. It is still a big contract.

It will most definitely be a topic of conversation, especially if his production tails off.

But you understand why the front load is a good thng and certainly don't need to do that to make your point.

So why be disingenuous?

i watched about 2/3 of the game -- missed all of our goals.

leino looks lost -- he got beat badly 1-on-1 on that behind the net ricochet goal (their 2nd, i think -- miller should've been in better position).

It's not so much that he was beaten badly. It was his refusal to throw a simple check. That goal never happens if he hits the Tampa player (I forget who that was).

And X, you know exactly why he keeps using those numbers. He'll flop back and forth just so he can use whatever backs up his idea. It's been a staple of his posts since day 1.

that is a more accurate description of what went down on that second tampa goal -- leino was in position to make a play (a position of strength, i would add), but failed to do so because he was soft on the 1-on-1. maybe "soft" is a better characterization than "beaten badly."

credit to the tampa player, though.

I don't think we thought that Leino was an all world hitter; did we? He is a finesse player who is known for his ability to control the puck (though I've seen a few too many giveaways on that front the last few games). He will need to go through the Lindy school of learning to be an all-around player; but he'll need to do it a little quicker then players that were drafted by the Sabres.

He didn't need to be an all world hitter there. We're not talking about a Regehr hit here. All that needed to happen there was the tiniest of shoves. I think That Aud Smell used the perfect description in his last post. That "attempt" was as soft as it gets. I'm not all that worried about Leino right now, but that play really irritated me.

hoppe reports that hecht is taking some "reps" centering leino and stafford.

hoppe tweet.

this oughta gladden the heart of our resident deutscher, LaLa.

Umm - its says he is taking reps on the Derek Roy line - is there something else indicating it is at center? It could be in Leino's spot on that line.

Edit: forget it. If you go to his actual feed, his next tweet says it is in the middle.
