Patty16 Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Instead of being benched to send him a message, he is promoted to the top line. Nice. I wonder if I start performing poorly at my job, if I can expect similar results... He was. He had a game or two with 9-10 mins of ice. I agree his production has been frustrating, but he wasnt a huge producer so far in the NHL and he needs time to adjust.
nfreeman Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 The under-reported fact in all this is that Team Stormcloud has seized the upper hand. But not for long, ladies. Pommer and Vanek's rising tide will lift the listing Leino boat, while Roy and Stafford are about to break out and Adam will ride along with them. Go Sabres.
X. Benedict Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Why is Ruff panicking and moving Leino about every damn game anyway? Try something for 3-5 games and see what happens. He is not to blame for this losing streak, I'd expect better out of him. DeLuca is right, we should leave the VAP line alone for a while and leave the LRS line for a while. The other thing to remember is that the Sabres have always started strong or ended slow of ended strong and started slow, well, recently. This one makes sense. The key to beating Philly is the defensive zone breakout. Nobody has practiced breaking the lock more than Ville Leino. Has the radio brought that one up?
korab rules Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Someone better do something because Jagr is on fire. Can't wait to see the Regehr v. Jagr battles!
Weave Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 The under-reported fact in all this is that Team Stormcloud has seized the upper hand. And I've been put in the pressbox !!!
qwksndmonster Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Can't wait to see the Regehr v. Jagr battles! They better at least throw a few big hits for how much you're hyping this up.

korab rules Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 They better at least throw a few big hits for how much you're hyping this up. They way each of them plays, the battles are inevitable. It won't be big hits, though. It will be two big strong men fighting for position and ice - one trying to get to a scoring position, one trying to keep the other out of a scoring position. Jagr is the best player of his generation coming off the half wall, shielding the puck and getting to the net. It won't make anyone's highlights but Robie's, but its the game within the game that contributes significantly to the final outcome.
sabre4life Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Roy has a sore hamstring. He said so today after practice. As CDX said, he looked pretty good last game. He's on the top PP today playing the point. I'd expect big things out of him tomorrow night. Edit: Wow I left that wide open didn't I? I don't know maybe he has different muscles than every other human on this planet... but a sore hamstring can lead to a tear/pull if stressed enough, I hope you're right, I'm not calling for Roy to be benched, I just want him healthy and playing like he has in the past at a point a game player, he's not doing that at this point favoring a sore hamstring. Again JMO....

It would still be better if he sat a game or two, as stated if it's sore after a heavy practice it's not going to be good come game time and the last thing we need is him out all season again.
darksabre Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 A lot of people here are really blowing this Adam for Leino swap wayyyyyy out of proportion. I heard that snow storm happened because Leino is on the top line now. Leino got put on the top line and he also banged everyone's wives, that scum bag. I heard that Adam had a meeting with Jesus and JC is really pissed that Adam has to play a game on wing with those hacks Roy and Stafford. Lindy Ruff was recently seen driving a new Range Rover. Sources say that Ville Leino bought it as a bribe to get him on the top line, overshadowing the thank you card that Adam sent Lindy for Halloween.

How about we let the paid professional therapists, doctors and medical staffs who guard the health of these multi million dollar athletes make decisions about whether they are able to play, and whether they are going to set themselves back by playing. I love to play doctor as much as anyone, but I don't pretend to know as much about the individual condition of any particular player as the team medical staff.
darksabre Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Remember in the rookie camp where Lindy pounded his stick across Adam's helmet over and over? Maybe Adam suffered brain damage and occasionally goes into fits of rage, hence Lindy's subsequent demotion of him from a scoring line to a scoring line.
shrader Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 Maybe Adam suffered brain damage and occasionally goes into fits of rage, hence Lindy's subsequent demotion of him from a scoring line to a scoring line. It was actually Leino in disguise.
darksabre Posted November 2, 2011 Report Posted November 2, 2011 It was actually Leino in disguise. Now it all makes sense. Leino framed Adam and got himself promoted to the top line. Does this mean that Adam actually bought Lindy the Range Rover? The thank you card was a forgery!? I can't stand all these lies and shenanigans! Why can't Lindy just put Adam back on the first line? We could avoid so much pain!

Yes he can play, but the chances of him re-aggravating and/or tearing the muscle is far greater than taking the time and allowing it to heal properly. Besides he had one decent game, they played ten? I don't have to be a doctor to realize the reality of this.

Yes you do, but don't let that stop you from thinking you know more about what is best for him than the entire Sabres medical staff. I am sure they would much rather risk a long term injury than give him a couple games off. Its not like they care about their players or have a vested interest in their long term health.

But way the hell, I'm sure it'll be fine. Or at least I'm not willing to worry enough to make a big deal out of it.

If there is one thing I question even more than GM, coaching, or character on this team over the past decade.....it is their medical staff. They may be highly qualified, but they leave themselves open for questioning. Maybe the coach has final say...I don't know. Just because you have a professional degree and practice, does not mean you get a free pass. Look at our banking system, courts, health insurance, etc. The bell curve is in effect everywhere.

There is a big difference between a do or die game seven when you have no centers left at all and a healed but not strong quad muscle versus a hamstring injury in the first month of the season that, if not treated properly, can linger and/or get worse. Richard Zednik and Clint Malarchuck disagree with your characterization of our medical staff. Do you have any specific examples of questionable decision making by the medical staff over the last decade? I can't think of any.

I think we have a great medical staff. But I think rushing Roy back was a poor choice.

I think that choice was made because they were out of centers, it was do or die, he had the entire offseason to continue his rehab, and most importantly, they felt it was healed to the point where he couldn't hurt it by playing on it. This is the Pegula owned Sabres we are talking about. They aren't going to risk the health of one of their top players.

Briere, Dumont, Gaustad, Kalinin.....all continued to play with undiagnosed sports hernias, only to miss games in key times instead of in the offseason in a few of those cases. Tallinder comes back early from a broken arm, only to break again within days. Missing Dominik Moore's broken hand. Tim Connolly missing 2 years with a head injury, when it took unsollicited advice from a college to say, "Hey, it's his neck causing the problem." Rivet's shoulder There are more, I will search some of my old posts as they happened.....those are just off the top of my head. Miller's mismanagement could be fingered on them as well. I don't know the whole heirarchy of Lindy-Mckinney-Med staff, etc.
