korab rules Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 you need to add meteor strike as an option.
Eleven Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 http://www.downgoesbrown.com/2011/10/hockey-fans-guide-to-world-series.html World Series: For the second straight year, the Texas Rangers have won their first two playoff rounds under the leadership of popular manager Ron Washington. NHL: Nobody with "Washington" on their jersey ever wins two playoff rounds in the same season. ... World Series: The Rangers have a legitimate chance to win the championship! NHL: Not so much.
nobody Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 you need to add meteor strike as an option. If it hits in Texas - you may be able to get some oil/natural gas out of the deal.
dEnnis the Menace Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I thought it'd be cool to have a Tigers-Brewers series...since that didn't happen, this is the first time in a while that I can say I really REALLY don't care about the outcome
korab rules Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I'm tired of polls. :wallbash: *erases first thing that jumps into head and goes to a different thread.
nobody Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 :wallbash: *erases first thing that jumps into head and goes to a different thread. She said polls - not poles.

LastPommerFan Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I'm tired of polls. Nobody can derail a thread quite like you chz. Like some sort of train of thought assassin.
Two or less Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Texas in 6. Both bullpens are incredible, but i like Texas' offense better and i think their starters can over match the Cards' starters, which i think are pretty weak besides Carpenter.
wjag Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 I don't pay attention to baseball. In fact, once baseball is done and the NBA doesn't start, what is poor ESPN going to talk about? :clapping:

SwampD Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 I honestly did not know who was playing in the World Series until this thread. Even that name bugs me. In this day and age of globalization, isn't the term World Series a little presumptuous and maybe a little pretentious as well. Even the NBA and NFL use the term World Champions. Only the NHL does it right, winners are only referred to as Stanley Cup Champions. I hate baseball.

Agreed, although I always have given the NFL a free pass on this because the Champion of the NFL would UNDOUBTEDLY would be the world's best team in its sport. Not the case for MLB or NBA.
inkman Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 I checked this morning...Soccer :-( Once college hoops starts up, that crap will be gone.
Buffalo Wings Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 I still think Texas wins this. Both teams have mediocre starting pitching, so it really depends on who gets the lead going into the 6th or 7th...since the bullpens are excellent. Texas' offense is better, but who the hell would've thought of David Freese?!?!??!
shrader Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Once college hoops starts up, that crap will be gone. Aren't they covering a ton of midnight madness events? They're going to be so ridiculously on top of the college basketball scene that they'll probably wind up airing stuff at the level of a Canisius-Niagara matchup. I could see some high profile high school games sneaking their way in too.
Sabre Dance Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Baseball season isn't over yet? Oh yeah - I guess that's why new episodes of "Bones" aren't on yet. Yeesh....
LabattBlue Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I know the pitching was awful, but what a game. The Rangers were twice within one strike of winning the WS, but couldn't close the deal. I'd like the Rangers to win(I like Ron Washington), but what a fitting ending to the season it would be if the Cardinals won. Their story from the last 3 weeks of the regular season to tonight has been AMAZING.
