LabattBlue Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 I don't know if it his facial expressions, the way he talks, or something else I can't pinpoint, but I want to reach through my TV and punch this guy in the face every time I come across NHL Live.

Grinder Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 I am still not happy they replaced The Power Play from Gretzky's restaurant with NHL Live on NHL Network. Hradek kind of talks out of the side of his mouth, very awkward.
Eleven Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 He's always seemed like a hockey fan with the right connections to be a blogger for ESPN, then a writer for ESPN, then a whatever for NHL Live...that does happen in this industry.
thesportsbuff Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Back when NHL Live was good (with Don LaGreca) I absolutely couldn't stand Hradek!! I've come to like him over the years only because he's a little better than some of the other dudes they have. Regardless, I haven't watched NHL Live very much since they switched it from the 12PM - 2PM time slot to the evening... for one I just have no time to watch it then, but also the changes they made to show have made it almost unbearable. I preferred when it was 4 dudes sitting in a storage-closet sized room talking hockey... now there's just too much flash. I mean, I guess it's not a bad show, and it's better than nothing, but I liked it much better when LaGreca was the main host and the show kind of centered around fans calls and e-mails... now it seems like a poor man's version of one of those ESPN shows like NFL Tonight etc etc. Also, as was mentioned, I miss the PowerPlay. Used to be two GREAT hockey radio shows on every day, now there's only one, and it's only "okay."
james duncan Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Outstanding thread. I agree with each comment. I've actually thought about calling the NHL Network on this. Hradek is a complete milktoast. The Powerplay was outstanding. Suspect that this nothing more than a dollars and cents thing by the Network.
