Eleven Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Shawn Szydlowski @Szydlowski19 packing..off to Gwinnett That's gotta suck. Yeah, but given his numbers and the fact that he wasn't drafted, it's to be expected. Is this the equivalent of being sent down in the AHL? Pretty much. He's in the ECHL now. If he can regain the ability to score (he did have 78 points in his final OHL season, but that was as a 20-year-old), maybe he comes back up. Otherwise, it's nice weather and Southern women...hey, maybe it doesn't suck so bad after all.

Agreed he's not producing and yeah getting to see the dynamics of drafted vs not is interesting. (first year really paying attention for me) Ie; the marketing graphics at the war memorial feature Foligno and Mcnabb, not Whitmore or Finley.
inkman Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Shawn Szydlowski @Szydlowski19 packing..off to Gwinnett That's gotta suck. Does this mean Stuart is Healthy?
Eleven Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Does this mean Stuart is Healthy? Probably. Now, if only Beavis and Butthead would stop ###### with him...
bcsaberks Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Boychuk and Parker too per Amerks twitter. So Rankin and Gongalsky stay? (both injured) I'm good with that. Boychuk is a draft pick. Invisible. 26 games, 2 assists.
inkman Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 Boychuk is a draft pick. Invisible. 26 games, 2 assists. 6'5" grinder who I can't recall hitting or fighting anyone. Not sure what he's doing out there. He should follow Turnbull's lead and act a fool.
inkman Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 7-2 getting the doors blown off beat down. The Hal Gill trade paying Bulldog dividends. Geoffrion all over the score sheet.
darksabre Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 7-2 getting the doors blown off beat down. The Hal Gill trade paying Bulldog dividends. Geoffrion all over the score sheet. Geoffrion is a monster talent. That trade was a great move for the future of the Canadians.
inkman Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Geoffrion is a monster talent. That trade was a great move for the future of the Canadians. If the pylon Gill gets fetches that, what can Goose, Roy, or Leopold fetch?
Eleven Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 If the pylon Gill gets fetches that, what can Goose, Roy, or Leopold fetch? EXACTLY. (Although I'd prefer to keep Leo.)
TrueBlueGED Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 If the pylon Gill gets fetches that, what can Goose, Roy, or Leopold fetch? Which is probably exactly what Regier is thinking, but unfortunately in typical Regier fashion, he's taking it too far to the extreme.
darksabre Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Which is probably exactly what Regier is thinking, but unfortunately in typical Regier fashion, he's taking it too far to the extreme. That's crazy talk. Darcy has no idea what his players are worth because the market hasn't been set yet. ;)
Bmwolf21 Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 7-2 getting the doors blown off beat down. The Hal Gill trade paying Bulldog dividends. Geoffrion all over the score sheet. I thought this game had the makings of a stinker for the Amerks. Just came off two physical, tough games with Lake Erie - teams combined for 86 penalty minutes on Friday night and 81 on Saturday night - and playing 3rd game in 3 nights.
shrader Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Geoffrion is a monster talent. That trade was a great move for the future of the Canadians. That talent combined with his pedigree really makes him an intriguing prospect. If anyone should know what it takes to play in the NHL, it's him.
darksabre Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 That talent combined with his pedigree really makes him an intriguing prospect. If anyone should know what it takes to play in the NHL, it's him. Absolutely. Plus I saw him rape RIT first hand at the Frozen Four. That wasn't pleasant.
shrader Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Absolutely. Plus I saw him rape RIT first hand at the Frozen Four. That wasn't pleasant. Yeah, but at least you guys were entertaining in an otherwise miserable environment in Ford Field. That thing was a train wreck.
darksabre Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Yeah, but at least you guys were entertaining in an otherwise miserable environment in Ford Field. That thing was a train wreck. Yes it was. BC's fans brought it but the Wisco fans were a massive disappointment.
shrader Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 Yes it was. BC's fans brought it but the Wisco fans were a massive disappointment. You must have it backwards. BC's fans never travel and they definitely didn't that year.
darksabre Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 You must have it backwards. BC's fans never travel and they definitely didn't that year. They had a little block at the end of the ice opposite us. They were...audible. Which is more than could have been said for Drunky Badger's family.
Bmwolf21 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Amerks beat Lake Erie tonight 4-3 after a 15-round shootout. EDIT: Rochester won the shootout 3-2.
Robviously Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Amerks beat Lake Erie tonight 4-3 after a 15-round shootout. EDIT: Rochester won the shootout 3-2. Two goals for Brennan and 1 goal for McNabb. I wouldn't mind seeing both guys as full-time Sabres in the near future (either this season or next fall).
K-9 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Just curious as to how Adam seems to be handling his demotion. To those that have seen him play, does he strike you as someone who is motivated to get back to the show or not? Are his defensive liabilities as pronounced? Thanks in advance. GO SABRES!!!
bcsaberks Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Great game last night! 15 round shootout win with Igor Gongalsky scoring the game winner just after signing an AHL contract this week. Leggio was solid all game and in the shootout, only allowing 2 goals in 15 shooters. Adam looks like he has hit the wall. I would not put him in my top 3 for call-ups right now. I think he needs another all-star break or two and this time he needs to just sit on the couch and relax. He took a bad delay of game penalty at 19:00 in the 3rd, wasn't even under heavy pressure. But more than that, he just doesn't look sharp. Foligno, Varone, Brennan, (Morrisonn as usual), Whitmore, McNabb all looked great last night. Crawford (6th dman?) had a rough game. Hopefully we don't lose too many guys at the trade deadline, this group of players is very like-able and are playing good hockey right now.

Was hoping to hear that he was full of fire to get back up. He needs to be a force at the AHL level. Hope he can turn it around. GO SABRES!!!

Also he did have an opportunity to fight last night and chose not to. Lake Erie guy chased him around for a bit challenging. Refs stepped in as Adam was backing away.
