I've always said you should avoid the band when making a hit...

"The home team has lost a soldier along the way: the left wing Hunter Bishop, who had to leave in the second period. The 24-year-old, who played 34 games with Hamilton last season, struck the band after missing a hit. He left the ice painfully, a victim of what appears to be a shoulder injury."

Catnasty's feet were going 100mph. He was quick but wasting energy. I think the NHL guys learn how to conserve their energy for a full game.

interesting observation.

Man, that Ennis - Leino - Stafford line is so packed with puck-handling capability. But I foresee myself screaming "SHOOT" like a retard many a time in their presence.

Stafford will be the trigger man on that line. Leino will get his share. Ennis will be Maxim, except will be able to control it like Datsyuk.

That whole line's production may rest on Stafford's ability to finish. If it's like last year, they'll all be collecting points left-and-right, but if it falls way off, then they may all look anemic.

So after watching Ehrhoff and keeping in mind its 1 preseason game... what are peoples thoughts on him? I thought he looked quite capable and was not the defensive liability some had kinda indicated he could be. His play was pretty solid and I think he is definitely more than just an above average defender with a good shot. I would like to see him teamed up with the E-L-S line because I think he is less afraid to shoot than a lot of our other defenders so maybe that would help get pucks to the net for that line. Guy looked solid and like a top 2 defender. Thoughts on Mr. Ehrhoff's debut?

Regehr ran some guys over last night and yuppers he is a big physical defender just like our very own Mike Weber. It is actually interesting to watch his far more refined play and compare it to Weber. There is a clear difference btw our two new vets and the guys we all know from the last couple of years. You can actually see their experience and skill on the ice and I think Regehr played the game he wanted to last night and most assuredly will be a solid addition to the blueline. Thoughts?

Also did you know according to this news article "The Sabres also went into the courtyard of the Calgary Flames for defenseman Robyn Regehr and forward Ales Kotalik." Apparently the flames have a courtyard where you can get players... thats kinda cool.
