5th line wingnutt Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Maybe he is buying Batavia? LMAO :clapping:
shrader Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 He's going to make that $2 million donation to the shrader fund?
frissonic Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 holy shizac, i love this tunein app. listening to GR. great way to end the work day.
Fifty Mission Cap Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 It will be streamed on the Sabres' website and on MSG's website--details in the game discussion thread. Many thanks.
spndnchz Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 He's switching his car insurance to Geico. Nothing to see here... move along...
Formerly Allan in MD Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 maybe a trade :P Owners don't usually announce trades, although Terry is a rather unique sole. Get a center!
spndnchz Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Anyone know if the game will be televised outside of Buffalo tonight? OR have a link to an online stream? I'm itching to see some of this new team, and not to see a #19 on the ice. Maybe they're giving away all the slug crap they have left for free?
frissonic Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 He's switching his car insurance to Geico. Nothing to see here... move along... being relatively new here, and not really seeing a ton of posts where you post sarcasm, i hesitate to roll out the lulz for this. part of me wants to believe you're just kidding. the other part of me is slightly worried ...
LabattBlue Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 I don't think Pegs would be announcing the captaincy. Has to be something else... Reduced concession prices? Something else related to ticket purchases? Larry Quinn dunk tank day? Pegs is buying the Bills? Darcy and Lindy are getting lifetime contracts?
shrader Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 He's switching his car insurance to Geico. Nothing to see here... move along... Does Geico insure jetpacks?
spndnchz Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 GR has broadcast rights extended 4 more years.
sabres1970 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 That's the announcement?! WGR is extended? BOO we want a captain!
That Aud Smell Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 GR has broadcast rights extended 4 more years. not that it's not newsworthy -- but i'd figure black would make such an announcement. the fact that the owner was making it ... led to some serious anticipation.
nobody Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 SABRES EXTEND BROADCAST AGREEMENT WITH ENTERCOM "WGR 550 has been the home for Buffalo Sabres games since 2005 and will continue to carry every game live with the team’s veteran broadcast team of Rick Jeanneret and Harry Neale. The station will also continue airing a pre- and post-game show. Additionally, the station will air several weekly segments with Sabres President Ted Black, General Manager Darcy Regier and Head Coach Lindy Ruff. Kiss 98.5 (WKSE-FM), WGR’s sister station, will also be airing a monthly segment with Kim Pegula, the wife of team owner Terry Pegula. Pegula will be appearing on Janet & Nick in the Morning. " Hopefully the wording of this isn't significant - or does it mean that Rick and Harry are actually going to call all of the games on radio - even the ones that they are not going to be doing the TV broadcast for?
X. Benedict Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Maybe he is buying Batavia? Batavia will have to wait.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 "Announcement" was a strong word ... he was on the air with them and Bulldog said something like "Terry Pegula joins us now with some news for the team and for the station that we are very happy about." And then Pegula said "Yup." And then Schopp actually gave the details. OK, I am exaggerating a bit ... but it wasn't much more than that.
Andrew Amerk Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Blah. An incredible letdown that none of our speculation was validated.
PromoTheRobot Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Buying a ECHL team for Batavia? There's one in Elmira. Buy the Jackels. PTR

That's too bad. I always envisioned Pegula buying his own station, maybe even a cluster of stations, to recreate something akin to Empire Sports. Then again he could always buy WGR. PTR
Weave Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Batavia will have to wait. The MuckDogs are for sale. Genesee County can dream.
korab rules Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 NO!!! If the Sabres are going to buy into the ECHL it HAS to be Elmira. If I end up jealous of Batavia I will have no choice but to slit my wrists! And its the JackAls
