Insomniac Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 I'm sorry, but I'm all for tradition. The Sabre Dance does get me pumped up. I like the idea of making it edgier though to appeal to more people and make it less...circus like. This version isn't bad, though could be a bti harder. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfEMnjGMEwY Quote
james duncan Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Many good choices. Exposing my 80's background, I do like Crue's "Kickstart" but think the lyrics to Pat Benatar's "All Fired Up" work and can be cranked. But, as mentioned, Van Halen and specifically "On Fire" can just be absolutely blasted and crank up ANYone and would be my choice. Quote

EdwardSauve Posted October 11, 2011 Report Posted October 11, 2011 Does anyone else like the intro to "Your Betrayal" by Bullet for My Valentine? Quote
ROC Sabres Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zdNdjF-htY Good tune but this one seems more fitting if you like them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oI27uSzxNQ Quote

Marvelo Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 I'd like to see the Sabres take a completely different approach to music than the rest of the league and sports in general. You want to instill a proper sense of fear, dread and intimidation in the hated opponent, right? I think strains of Prokofiev's Alexander Nevsky ("Battle on the Ice") is the right thing to pipe in throughout a Sabres game, instead of the lame pop stuff they've been doing for centuries. It's self-explanatory. (1:45-10:00) Quote

TrueBlueGED Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 Personally when I'm at a game I want some rock music to really get the blood flowing, but maybe it's a generational thing. My first choice would have been Unstoppable by Pop Evil, but browsing the videos on youtube it appears the Red Wings either use it or it's an unofficial Detroit anthem. So I settled on A Warrior's Call by Volbeat: I'd even pay them to adapt it a little to the Sabres. Quote
korab rules Posted March 27, 2012 Report Posted March 27, 2012 With the proliferation of blond haired blued eyed folks on the roster, I'm thinking some Rammstein is in order. Van, Ehrhoff, Sulzer, Hecht, Ennis, Myers, Ellis, even Foligno's hair is pretty light. Roy's is too, but I am sure that is chemically enhanced. Also, when did they start taking head shots with the use of funhouse mirrors? Ruff and Regier forming a team in their own image? Quote

I think Classical has alot of cool possibilites. Sabre Dance is classical, dontcha think? Night on Bald Mountain, Wagner, the list goes on. It sends a chill up the spine. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081119040706AAwf4ke Edited March 27, 2012 by 716 Quote

"Lonely Boy" could not be more perfect, musically or lyrically. Quote

I am Defecting Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 Absolutely Prokofiev's "Battle on the Ice" Nevsky is a film by Eisenstein, and the soundtrack was by Prokofiev. It's Classic cinema, like Citizen Kane. This was Stalin's heyday, though, so imagine him over the shoulder of both the director and composer... and they came up with amazingly subversive things. Both were too popular to kill, at the time. Quote
I am Defecting Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) Shiznit. As long as Prokofiev is on the table. Montague v. Capulet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sJE0kI6loU Battle on the Ice is better, though. Shoutout to the greatest living conductor Valery Gergiev. Edited March 29, 2012 by Yuri Olesha Quote

korab rules Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 (edited) There is only one film involving a battle on ice that can be referred to as one of the greatest films of all time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5bjIJ6JqaE And the theme music would make damn fine entrance or PP music. NNYSABRESMAN Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 I would like the team to hit the ice to Hair of the Dog by Nazereth, and live up to it! Then the front office could be ushered in by Jive Talkin by the BeeGees! Quote

Yo ye pharoahs, let us walk Through this barren desert, in search of truth And some pointy boots, and maybe a few snack crackers. Who's in charge here? where's my Captain's wafers? Don't go around hungry now.... Camel Walk was a minor hit for them, but for this Sabres team a far more appropriate SCOTS intro song would be "Ditch Diggin' " IMO. Quote
CallawaySabres Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 Start with guitar upon entering ice and fohgit about it....... Quote
Carmel Corn Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 Sabre Dance??? Please NOOOOOO! It's old, outdated, uninspiring and creates about as much excitement as watching the Bill's offense. Those wanting Sabre Dance are too attached to the name vs. how dull & boring the song actually is.
