notwoz Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Ugh....Sabredance....yawn! Just because it has a name recognition factor does not mean it excites people....fine during intermissions or commercial breaks, but not when you're trying to set a tone and get players and fans adrenaline going. Rock & Roll works best here. Hmmm. If a team needs to play a song to get players' adrenaline going, then maybe that team needs difference players. That said, did you listen to that version of Sabredance? Quote
That Aud Smell Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Leafs picked out their new goal song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUQAz7w6svU hey, Mod, isn't that more properly the subject of a goal song thread? :nana: fwiw, i think that song fits the bill -- full marks to the laffs' in-game experience folks. qwksndmonster Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 Leafs picked out their new goal song. It's basically the Blackhawks goal song. I like the Blackhawks one though, because our local ECHL team (Elmira Jackals) stole it :D Quote
X. Benedict Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Didn't think a song that will get played once a month needed it. Nice. Quote
beerme1 Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Can we revisit Swords of a Thousand Men or whatever that goal song was last year? Hey stop throwing chit at me. 1 Quote
Claude_Verret Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 I like the idea of Rush - classic Canadian band, hockey fans, great drum beats to get the crowd going. How sweet would it be to to bring the guys in and get Gedyy in a Sabres jersey rather then a Maple Leaf jersey. That would be sweet, plus if Pegula is using the Red Wings as his model franchise the Wings rode "One Little Victory" as their intro song to the 2002 Stanley Cup. Quote

korab rules Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 why on earth did we ever use a song with Hurricane in the title - I never understood that. Stupid. You know who uses it, and should? That's right, the HURRICANES. And classical versions of rock songs suck, just on general principles. Quote
papazoid Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 buffalo sabres jukebox... http://www.sabresalumni.com/media/jukebox.php Quote
TheMatrix31 Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 That Leafs goal song is full of douchery. Sick of the freakin' "Apple commercial" bent on so many things, dammit. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 That Leafs goal song is full of douchery. the song? or the video? i think your criticism has the ring of truth to it -- but the song, standing alone, is fun and invites participation. but i get what you're saying - i think. Sick of the freakin' "Apple commercial" bent on so many things, dammit. the video and song, together, have a whiff of corporate slickness about them. but i guess i don't see enough commercials -- what's the bent that sickens you? darksabre Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 I think we should let Drew Stafford pick it. Quote
The_Swannie_House Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 Sabres come FLYING out at the 1:30 mark of the song!!! Quote

sabres1970 Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Changed my mind, I want "Street Fighting Man" The Stones. Classic Sabre related song. Quote
ROC Sabres Posted October 4, 2011 Report Posted October 4, 2011 Like the 2nd sucks option, but might be a lil too heavy for the general populace. How about dis? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hij1b1kG0Mw Good tune but I like scream, aim, fire better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jDIx23m59U Lyrics are probably a little to harsh for a "family outing" though.
