frisky Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 What's wrong with the Sabre Dance? Isn't that their intro music? Tradition isn't always a bad thing. Quote
Eleven Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 My preferences in order: 1. Sabre Dance 2. Sabre Dance played by a local rock band 3. Street Fightin' Man. Quote
Huckleberry Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 lets go for something bit more excotic :D no one will see that one coming. Quote
TheMatrix31 Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Sabre Dance is good for the broadcasts but I don't think its a great in-arena intro song. Like someone said earlier, it's as if there are a bunch of clowns skating onto the ice. Quote
darksabre Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 lets go for something bit more excotic :D no one will see that one coming. Thank you! Thank you for thinking outside the box! Now, does that mean this is a good choice? Not really. But, at least you're putting something out there that isn't the same old tired crap. What else do you have in that head of yours? Quote
darksabre Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 When I think about the Sabres, I think about tradition and the future. I think about new versus old melded together to form one great thing. Why not have the intro song be a combination of classical and modern? Play both of these at the same time. Quote

Third movement might be more appropriate: But it reminds me too much of the Smurfs. Maybe they can use it when Gerbe scores or something. Quote

The original almost works better, but doesn't really stick with the idea of old and new. Quote
Carmel Corn Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Totally agreed. Ugh....Sabredance....yawn! Just because it has a name recognition factor does not mean it excites people....fine during intermissions or commercial breaks, but not when you're trying to set a tone and get players and fans adrenaline going. Rock & Roll works best here. Quote
Mox Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Rock & Roll works best here. Yes. Here's what they've used in 09-10 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAJI-XEuamM I hope they do something original and not rehash the same stadium rock songs you always hear.. And please no "Street Fighting Man" maybe I'm in the minority but that song doesn't do anything for me. Quote
shrader Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 I want all out 80s cheese. Let's break out the Karate Kid soundtrack. Quote

wjag Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 does that have Kenny Loggins or Eddie Money or both? Always been a fan for Highway to the Danger Zone.... Always adds a few MPH when it comes on the radio... Quote
Drunkard Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 We don't need a Satanic song to be our theme. Does that mean I can put you, your god, and your bible down for a vote for Angel with the Scabbed Wings then? Quote

"You're the best ... around ... nothin's gonna ever keep ya down!" (if you need a youtube clip to sing along, well, you're not going to get the joke anyway.) Quote

Andrew Amerk Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 The Sabres intro song should be something with a nice beat, and some of the best all time RJ calls mixed in. Perfect. Quote
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxgeSv88c2w&ob=av2e This would be awesome, especially at the 50 second mark And you could definitely put RJs calls over it Quote

Huckleberry Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 I'm horrified about all the nickelback, and linkin park suggestions, can it get more ghey than that ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eFhhrwRQB0 Yes, song is in french but atleast it will be usefull against montreal. :D To be honest not a good intro song, but for some reason, I found this song again, and it keeps reminding me of the sabres. After all those years, the hunger for stanleys cup is great, and its time to stand up. Quote
drnkirishone Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 Thou maybe this would be more of a raising cup banner song for a season opener  Quote
slug-hater26 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 lamb of god - faded line ;) Quote
