Think you might be a little bit overly confident about guys like Gerbe and Roy, but I guess there's nothing wrong with that.

Gerbe won't score 30 goals. He'll score 15-20 goals and he usually does them in the clutch. Roy will probably have the same

i can't imagine gerbe cracking the 30 goal plateau this season. and if pompom and stafford don't, i'll be shaking my head.

 

i'll also be a bit worried if leino can't crack 70pts centering the top line.

wait Gerbe gets more points than Tyler Ennis? I just don't see that happening when Ennis has Leino and pominboysford on his line... Im thinking gerbe 46pts 19g and Ennis 58pts 24g

Interesting game. Does someone win something if they get their predictions close to right? Here's my take:

 

1. Vanek - 40 goals (75 points)

2. Stafford - 35 goals (68 points)

3. Roy - 30 goals (80 points)

4. Pominville - 26 goals (73 points)

5. Gerbe - 25 goals (46 points)

6. Ennis - 23 goals (64 points)

7. Leino - 20 goals (63 points)

8. Hecht - 20 goals (43 points)

 

Defense

Ehrhoff - 17 goals (50 points)

Myers - 15 goals (60 points)

Leopold - 13 goals (35 points)

Sekera - 8 goals (30 points)

 

It looks like I'm predicting a lot of offense for this year's Sabres. Eight 20 goal scorers is generally unheard of in this era, but when you look at the team, it's not outside the realm of possibility and if you think about it, the Sabres have 8 guys on this team that have scored 20 goals or more in a season previously in their career: Vanek, Stafford, Pominville, Roy, Hecht, Ennis, Kotalik, and Boyes. So, considering Leino scored 19 last year and Gerbe had a strong year, it's not inconceivable for the Sabres to have eight twenty goal scorers if they are all healthy and Hecht has a bounce back year, which he would be due based on his pattern of performance. Either way, should be a fun year.
