I've spent way more on the a/v equipment than I did on the structure itself. My neighbor is a builder so I got a deal on the lumber, and we built it ourselves on the weekends. My HOA tried giving me crap about it for awhile, but they eventually backed off. Thankfully I have a very understanding and tolerant wife, as I've gone a little overboard out there a few times.

As in, "wake up and there's infomercials on" overboard? lol

most excellent! i love that about apple. they take care of their own. doesn't matter if you're in line for a new product or sad/mad about a faulty device; they will hook you up. ever try waiting in line for a new phone on release day? out here, when the 4 came out, it was 95 degrees. the line was 3 blocks long. apple brought around fruit, bagels, and cold bottles of water for EVERYone at least every 2 hours. it was awesome.

God no, why would I want to do that when I could wander into a store a few days later and buy one? :)

Yeah that's a pretty regular occurrence. Also, I have a grand re-opening every year in the fall. Last year I smoked a 150 lb. pig and had about 25 guys over to watch college football. Everything was fine until the sawzall came out and we began cutting off and consuming parts of the pig that they tend to put in hot dogs. Then there was the time that we ran out of firewood so my neighbor and I got out the chainsaw and we started cutting down 60-70 ft. dead trees in the woods behind the cave. There's also the fireworks (mortars) that make an appearance every now and then. If someone sets off fireworks within five miles of my house, it's a lock solid guarantee that the police will do a drive through on my street within 10 minutes. And then there is the couple times that we did stuff that my wife got (justifiably), very pissed at me for. I can't post about those though.

because generally the supply runs out in a few days, and you're left beating your head against the wall wishing you had stood in line. :)

however, that was indeed a one-time experience. this time, i'm ordering online. and i'm debating whether or not i'm going to switch over to verizon or sprint. i just can't stand at&t throttling my "unlimited" account at 3GB. "dude. HOW do you use 3GB of data a month?!" very easily. try streaming any video, or even audio, for that matter. if you use itunes match, and you're out and about and want to download something but don't have access to wi-fi, it's not at all hard to jump over that 3GB threshold.

no, we'll probably go with sprint. truly unlimited, good coverage out here, and most importantly, NOT at&t.

My man cave was originally built with only the TV inside. I quickly realized that wasn't much fun for sports viewing so I only use the inside for watching movies, so I split the hdmi and mounted an outside TV, in retrospect I should have just built a wall with a TV on it for how little I'm actually inside the cave.

Watching Tintin with the girlfriend and finishing the last of my big bottle gift beers, a Sierra Nevada/Russian River collaboration, Brux.

It's phenomenal. I would drink it with every meal.

Heading out to Buffalo to visit my little sister for her birthday today, then driving to Syracuse tomorrow for a date night with my girlfriend. Her med school schedule is demanding, so with her having a "long weekend" (No classes Monday due to Rosh Hashanah), We can have an evening out, just the two of us. We don't get many of those lately, so it's Fantastic :)

I'm flying up to Buffalo for the Bills game this weekend and it looks like the weather will be fantastic. I'm so numb to the Bills at this point I honestly don't care about the game so much. I'm sitting in the Jim Kelly club so that should be interesting I guess What I am looking forward to most is the pub crawl my friends and family do the night before the home opener in the village of Hamburg. We've been doing this for five years and like last year there is also an Oktoberfest going on at the same time in a park right in the village. 13 bars plus Oktoberfest and I'll be lucky to even make it to the game on Sunday. F'N fantastic.

Made it to Watkins Glen for the first time in over 20 years on a gorgeous, sunny day. Definitely F'N Fantastic.

Great beer at Roosterfish if you can make it. They are right down the street from the entrance to the Glen park.

My boyfriend is finally back tomorrow night from his weeklong camping trip, and if the weather holds we're going to Hershey Park on Sunday with my friend and her boyfriend.

Sadly was on a time schedule and hanging with the fam, who are not much for beer (or drinking in general). I'd like to get back there with my boyfriend since he's never been, and we'll definitely look for it!

 the day is almost over. That by itself makes it F'N Fantastic

Also F'N Fantastic: everyone thought my sister had a 3rd degree tear of her MCL during a soccer game three weeks back. She's been doing PT/rehab, and seeing a specialist, and he said yesterday that the healing/scar tissue that he can feel/see is just astounding, and that her body is incredible in terms of it's ability to heal. She was told when it first happened that she would have to be an injury red shirt for the remainder of the season. Today, she got the good news that she can play in a game in two weeks (Oct 6th). She may not play the whole thing, but with a brace on, she can play, which is F'N Fantastic News.

Good news! But I wouldn't be playing if I were her unless I was 100%. Take it from someone who should have taken better care of his knees haha

I don't think she will play if she's not 100% or close to it, but she's been running on an elliptical for the last week, next week she moves on to the treadmill. That leaves her the full two weeks to deal with impact running.

That's good. The real test of course is actually moving like you would in a game. The way a knee bends trying to kick a ball, battle with other legs, pivot and somehow not self-destruct, is not pleasant haha

Haha true! I'm not entirely certain what her full routine is for rehabing, but I figure she'll start doing planting and kicking drills here soon if she's starting the impact running. I'm excited for her. When it happened, the injury that is, I was about to sprint onto the field! A girl from the other team deliberately slide tackled her leg out from under her while she was planting to kick, and she went down, and the other team ended up scoring (my sis plays defense, and was the last one back on the play). No card to the girl for going after the legs of another player (there was no way she was trying to play the ball), no penalty, nothing. The ref told my sister she needed to get up so they could kick off, while her team hollered for the trainer. I wanted to punch the ref so bad. They actually had security escort him off the premises after the game ended after a bunch of fans started yelling at him for some of his calls.

In the end though, it may have worked out. we'll see.

Bump ...

The sun is shining and it is up to 10c here. High to be 15c, with crisp clear skies ... a beautiful fall day.

My mid-morning meeting has been postponed until next Friday ... . So, I have some time to catch-up on some office paperwork before heading to the Mosque for Friday Prayers.

All in all pretty F'N Fantastic, so far anyway.

EDIT: And ... Happy Big 5-0 kishoph! If we can trust that it really is your birthday today, as some members have been known to mess with that ... hi 11.

My little sister is coming home for the weekend form college. We're gonna go to the apple orchard with our significant others, and probably catch a movie altogether. I'm pretty excited, as it's kind of boring without her around (she's the jokster of the family, and the one that makes EVERYONE laugh).

Looks like the weather is going to hold for my motorcycle camping trip this weekend. Riding up to Ole Bull State Park in PA. Not too far from Buffalo (or the listed home of Grand Master PA).

Pay PA a visit, I'm sure Hank can give you his address.

It's been about a month, but our new screen porch is finally done. Looking forward to sitting out there tonight with the wife and some cold homebrew. The only downside is the wife now has a perch to watch over me at my man cave.

Well to be fair, you probably shouldn't have been watching porn on that giant outdoor screen anyway.
