ATDHE dot busted http://www.canishoopus.com/2011/8/25/2383678/guy-who-streamed-nba-games-faces-prison Remember ATDHE.net? Now known as ATDHE.me? The name changed last winter when ICE (U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement) seized ten domains just days before the Super Bowl. This week they finally arrested a New Yorker for illegally streaming "copyrighted sports events": 19 year old Mohamed Ali. Suppose I should unbookmark it lol.

Weave Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 What were the other 10 domains that were seized? And I wonder if this is going to have much of an impact on me trying to find games when we play on Versus.

Eleven Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 It's sad to see Mohamed Ali end up this way. He had such a great career.

Two or less Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 no wonder i couldnt get the game i wanted last night.... btw, is it illegal to watch games on these web sites or it just illegal to just stream them online?
Eleven Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 no wonder i couldnt get the game i wanted last night.... btw, is it illegal to watch games on these web sites or it just illegal to just stream them online? I don't know that. But I do know that there are decisions holding website owners liable for links to illegally-streamed material.
SDS Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 I don't know that. But I do know that there are decisions holding website owners liable for links to illegally-streamed material. that'll never hold up. That has implications far beyond watching sports.
SwampD Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Last year, I tried to do the right thing. I payed the $350 for DirectTV's Sunday Ticket To Go. I can't DirectTV because of trees, so this was my only legitimate option to see the Bills. After four weeks of them only providing about 5 minutes of football, due to "technicaL issues that they are working on", I canceled. During those four weeks, though, I probably only missed about 5 plays of the Bills. Not only were the bootleg feeds readily available, but some were way better quality than those five minutes that DirectTV gave me. I'm going to try again this year and get NFL To Go and hope that they've got their ###### together (they've only had a year to do it), if not, I sure hope that there are some bootleg sites up by then.
carpandean Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 no wonder i couldnt get the game i wanted last night.... btw, is it illegal to watch games on these web sites or it just illegal to just stream them online? Well, the disclaimer at the end of games talks about any duplication or rebroadcasting without the permission of the NHL, so from that, one could surmise that it's the streamer that is doing something illegal, not the viewers. Of course, it's illegal to knowingly receive stolen property, too, so who knows. I suppose, one could argue that viewers don't know whether or not those sites had rebroadcasting permissions ...

Sounds like it might be time to get Judge Judy involved.
Eleven Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 that'll never hold up. That has implications far beyond watching sports. It does, and I do not think the decisions in question concern live sports streaming.

There'll always be sites to watch the games. There had better be or I'm going to miss a lot of sabres games this season.
