Just a hunch Sabres are having a presser tomorrow to name Amerks coaches. McKee is in town (although he lives here) for charity tonight and the Sabres are showing pics of him signing autographs. Just a hunch. If my memory serves me right he was helping out at NU last year.

A head coach and an assistant with no experience at the professional level? I don't know if I'm too crazy about that. I'm still a bit curious about Rolston since his only head coaching experience was with a bunch of high schoolers.

almost as good as the old First Union Arena in Philly...

I have a friend who used to work for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins ... they would get very upset if you called their barn the First Union Arena (because it was actually the First Union CENTER!!!) They were also very touchy about never being called Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ... I think they were related to that Chico guy from the East Campus of Sabres University ...

Is it just me or does the name "First Niagara Center" sound a lot better than "First Niagara Arena"?

I thought maybe TPegs would buy out the remainder of the naming contract. He could then name it after the natural gas-producing method that made him financially sound - Fracking Arena. Of course, this is so close to FN Arena that it was probably not worth mentioning. Please go back to what you were doing previously. Carry on....

Actually, if the name is indeed changing, this is very interesting...HSBC will still have two buildings housing a fair number of employees just yards away from the arena. You would have thought they would want to keep the naming rights to maintain the local connection. Unless of course they plan on yanking said jobs out of the area at some point in the not-too-distant future.... Oy.

I debated that before I posted then realized the correct answer was incidental to the message so I chose one. Erroneously.

You shouldn't fear that Banks will always make money and they need staffers et al. Bank names change more than the weather 'round these parts.
