An open letter to Mr. Ted Black/ MSG

You addressed a board of hundreds of sabres fans - who should clearly be receptive to your argument crusade - and managed to turn them against you. You are right - you shouldn't go to law school - you would make a horrible lawyer.

Are you done yet?

MSG has publicly stated that they are trying to pull the plug on Sabres fans and I'm the bad guy. That's just nuts.

Everyone should be on my side but Time Warner has a bunch of puppets on this board. By puppets, I'm referring to the absurd opinions posted, not the vast majority of sane people that are mad about MSG not being on Dish or trying to stop the HD on Fios. Sane consumers like more choices.

Which would you rather have if MSG HD comes to fios? Fios or Time Warner? Would you rather have fiber optic or rusty copper wire from the 20th century? It's a simple question with a simple answer. Fios or Time Warner?

Not anymore. He was disbarred.

no one is saying that "watching a Sabres game should be more difficult than watching a Bills game." Who on Earth would say that?

I'm glad we agree on that. This could happen if the Sabres got out of this horrible deal and broadcast on Channel 49 or 67. That way, it would be as simple as watching a Bills game for all of us. If the Sabres can switch from Portland to Rochester then they should be able to do that as well.

To be fair, for the amount of flack he's caught for pretty much every post he's written, he's been *extremely* gracious and NON-name-calling ... unlike some other semi-newbie posters who like to use nothing but sarcasm, tantrums and vitriol. *COUGH**Snowmobiler97**COUGH*. He may be just an over-enthusiastic HD fan, which I think to some degree all of us are--whether we have personal access or not. Is it wrong of him to WANT everyone to have the HD MSG feed? Of course not. I think that, more than anything else anyone has postulated, is his main reason for posting--not monetary gain or whatever. Think of him as an "Occupy Sabrespace" protester. He means well, but ... maybe a tad misguided?

To SabresHD, please accept my most sincere apologies for comparing you to the "occupy" group. No maliciousness intended. :)

How do I manage to miss all of the food talks?!?! I had a chicken and bacon club from Subway for lunch today, and I'm about to go meet my father and sister for pizza. Atlas Brick Oven Pizza in Corning, if anybody's ever heard of it. I'm sick, and I'm still going crosstown to get pizza. It's just that important.

Socialists want government monopolies. I want a competitive market with many choices. That's why I want out of this terrible MSG situation, because business monopolies aren't much better. You still get a low quality product at a high price. The TV situation was so much better before these creeps.

I don't understand any of this stuff or how it works.

ON EDIT: This is the same person who posted something similar a couple of weeks ago. I identified the agenda right away, then; I didn't do it so quickly this time. OP has an agenda, likely corporate, and this whole thing should be ignored.

I thought it was funny. Those socialists on Wall Street should protest in front of MSG offices. Maybee they can help us out on something.

You want a competitive market with choices? That's exactly what you have. You don't want a socialist society where everyone gets the same thing? That's exactly what you are advocating for.

We still don't know what you do for a living, but we can cross lawyer, political science professor, and anything involving logic off the list.

Sabres HD:

I want my NFL Network back on TW as it was there when I was a subscriber to Adelphia and then TW after the buyout. They dropped it I lose. The FCC is trying to force MSG to share the HD signal so it's not like you are fighting this battle alone or it is falling on deaf ears.

The fact that I cant get NFL still leaves me pissed off but still with choices. I can go to other carriers to get it but you cant get it with an antennae as I'm sure you understand. I am 100% for making MSG share the HD signal and truly hate TW. However until they are forced to share, I have the option of switching providers to get an sd feed and NFL Network in HD but guess what I wont be doing that. If and when Fios ever hits my street that is when I will really have a dilema. I can jump ship to a much better provider without Sabres HD and then it will hit home for me. But until then I have no NFL Net but will enjoy Sabres in HD as that is a bigger priority for me.

I just dumped Verizon landline and switched it over to TW with reservations of course but I also dropped some crappy tiers from them and have managed to knock off roughly $70 a month from my phone and cable bill and knowing that I am actually giving TW a couple bucks less per mo and getting something extra from them makes feel alright.

But Jesus you are coming across as the Lunatic Fringe with repeated rant. And I know about Lunatic Fringe types!

So if the Sabres end the deal with MSG and broadcast locally on ch. 49 or ch. 67 then this is socialism? An example of socialism would be if the GOVERNMENT TOOK OVER MSG AND THE TAX PAYERS PAID TO RUN THE SERVICE. This is called nationalization.

Are you bright enough to understand that my letter was a PLEA to Mr. Ted Black because he is one of the few people that can bring about a new PRIVATE BUSINESS arrangement that would put the Sabres in every home in WNY?

Why do you care so much what I do for a living? Why are your paranoid Suspicions of my motives more important than the fact that MSG has publicly stated that they are trying TO PULL THE PLUG ON SABRES FANS?

I'll give you hint about my profession, so even you can figure it out.

Theorem: Let's suppose we have a Cauchy sequence in Euclidean space with limit point L. Then every open cover of the sequence's range has a finite subcover in this topological space.

Proof: Since the sequence is a Cauchy sequence it implies that only a finite number of points is outside of any open ball with an epsilon radius. Any finite number of points can be covered with a finite number of open sets, therefore every open cover of the range has a finite cover.

This proof should be simple for a man with your logic.

Don't you understand that if the Sabres got out of this terrible MSG deal then you wouldn't need to make these tough choices? If Mr. Pegula could be persuaded to make a move, like he did when he switched from Portland to Rochester then we could all benefit as fans? This is why it's addressed to Mr. Ted Black. NOT GOD OR THE GOVERNMENT.

Lunatic Fringe? Why have people been attacking me because I speak up about MSG's BS. Why would someone ask the mods to delete my posts like Eleven?

ok, so if MSG gets pulled, one way or another, and it's broadcast locally on one of those 2 channels...what are us out of towners going to do? just a question because I don't know either one of those channels or if I'll get them here in central NY...with Buffalo broadcasts...

No, I think he designs furniture slipcovers.

A cauchy sequence could be used to describe the ever decreasing reach of the Sabres HD signal, couldn't it?

So, did you send this letter to Ted Black?

SabresHD...I didn't see your response to this post which was the 2nd post in this thread. Did your letter go off to Black or are you just going to bitch about this on a message board? According to you, Black is the man who can fix what you are bitching about.

I know, that's not nice. I don't even know the guy. Hey, SabresHD, you'd get alot less flak if you joined in the *other* conversations going on around here instead of limiting your discussion to one topic that apparently only you are passionate about.

Just sayin'...

Finally, an intelligent question. If MSG is out of the way then the Sabres would have complete control over the signal. It would be on in upstate New York just like the Bills. It would be the Sabres that provide the signal to whatever provider they wish in your town. They have no incentive to deprive fans like MSG does with cable. They want the highest possible ratings, not the highest possible cable subscriptions. You may not get it with an antenna in your town, but you'll get with Dish, Direct or whatever else. The home broadcast would also be available in HD for everyone with NHL center Ice. Which would be a big improvement.

No I didn't. This is the main message board for the Sabres. You're naive if you think that the Sabres PR department doesn't read this stuff. Sending it to him directly would be a waste, because I want all fans to know what MSG is doing. How would I know if the inters would have the guts to show it to him? Do you have a better way? I'd love to know?

Mom's basement? You wish.

Gifted? I wonder if anyone has ever said that about Korab rules. I doubt it.

I also doubt anyone will trash my logic now.

Nah. I don't have basement envy.

Actually, you're right about that. After I posted that little proof, I noticed a small mistake. If you want to find it without assistance then you will have to take the same scary math courses that I did. Good luck with those.

I think you'll find that the reason for the reaction you are getting is directly related to your delivery. This site occassionally gets posters with a monetary agenda. Generally they have the same MO as you, they create a handle that emphasises their product, start a thread with their very first post to discuss their product, and don't post in any threads other than the one they are using to shout about their product. I'll give you credit, when their threads don't get what they hoped most of them don't stick around long enough to troll.

Like I said, Lunatic Fringe.

Anyway, I despise MSG for their tactics and TW for multiple reasons but you seem to be overlooking the fact they MSG has a contract with the Sabres. Remember also there was a time when we were grateful that MSG picked up the Sabres. Of course that was before HD was being piped into peoples homes but the fact is they have a contract. You cant just throw it out. Yes Black can attempt to persuade them to let them out of it but it would not happen overnight and surely not this season AND becomes moot if the existing court challenges against MSG hold up and I expect they will and MSG will be forced to provide the feed to every carrier.

p.s. your talking to an uneductaed guy here who hates math and I think flunked Algebra, wait no no I just left. I have no desire to figure out what the hell you do based on all that code you put in the thread.

Lets try this, hi, my name is Willy. What do you do?
