dEnnis the Menace Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 what would you suggest for OT? If there is no shootout anymore, what do you do? Go back to Ties after an OT session? I want to keep the shootout. I for one like it. I don't mind the idea of going down to 3v3 first tho.

Regular season only. As much as I love hockey, no one wants to stay and watch a game forever. I think a good idea would be to extend it to 5 shooters on each team. It's too hard to catch up when you're down 2-0.

Marvelo Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 I'm interested on how the new shallower (by 4") nets are going to affect the game. One one hand, it'll give an advantage to guys like Tyler Ennis, who can use that extra sliver to squirt around the net. On the other hand, I don't know if the nets will stand up to the rocket shots the players take. I can already see the pucks immediately bouncing off the twine like a super ball. With all these rule changes every year, the refs are going to become more tentative and inconsistent. The only change I'd make is to get rid of Bettman.

I also wonder if the net will come of it's moorings more easily as well.

The other thing is it makes it harder for the defenseman to hide behind the net.
Andrew Amerk Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 The players on the ice will be "less hurt" when bangin' into that portion of the glass. Think of the player on the bench that is now exposed to getting hit in the teeth with a puck coming off the ice because the glass is at that angle. Or hits the curved portion and deflects at some odd angle the player isn't ready for. I still like, just saying somebody gonna get surprised with a puck in the face. Good thing most of the players already have fake teeth.
