But the questions he raised about Kaleta's uncle getting the contract to build the rink were not from outer space, nor were the statements about Lindy being over-aggressive in the episode with Adam. Could a thorough review of the facts completely exonerate the Kaletas? Should GoDD have undertaken a review like that before he started slinging allegations around? Could people have been offended by GoDD's comparison of Lindy with a pedophile? Absolutely, on all counts. But the underlying positions weren't, IMHO, totally whacked-out conspiracy theories like some that have been thrown around here.

 

Just my opinion, but I'd like both PAFan and GoDD back here and posting.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. By mentioning Kaleta's Uncle getting the contract you are making my argument for me. Kaleta's uncle doesn't own a construction company! Certainly not one capable of constructing a 5.5 million icerink/multi-sport recreation complex. That argument was made up out of whole cloth. You're right the argument isn't from outer space - outer space actually exists.

 

As to the video of ruff, well, I guess someone can make whatever they want out of it. Whacking someone in the helmet with a composite stick the way ruff did in that video is like having a fly land on your head - you barely feel it. Contrary to the image of ruff conveyed by your avatar, that video gave us a glimpse of the ruff and the coaching style that has allowed him to remain coach of the same team longer than almost anyone else in professional sports in the same time frame. I saw a jocular ruff coaching up the guys in a manner that athletes understand, respect and anticipate.

 

The view of that video espoused by he who shall not be named was so far out of left field I can't even comprehend it. Even the mamby pamby former chess club members who bring their kids to the rink for the first time in the hope someone can turn them into a hockey player don't react the way he did when little billy receives a cross word from a coach. Can you imagine what would have been claimed had Lindy exhibited perhaps the most common act of encouragement in hockey - a whack to the butt with a stick? My goodness! Would that qualify as attempted ######?

But from the Sabres' perspective, why should they trade Morrisonn? They wouldn't get much in return for him. Wouldn't they be better off keeping him as a relatively low-cost insurance policy?

 

Separately, I too thought the Sabres were done for the summer, but in the most recent interview I heard with Darcy (which was I think after the Enroth signing), it sounded like he was interested in making a trade. One of the Sabres' beat writers also hinted recently that he expected a trade. So now I'm kinda expecting one more move -- and one in which the Sabres will add a roster player, not just dump salary. XB could certainly be right that it won't be until camp though.

Read that insurance policy carefully. It has a lot of holes in the coverage.

Good points, I agree. I think they will make a move for a center at some point via trades.

 

Wouldn't it be great if we could just keep Kotalik for his shootout skilz and PP Blast from the point? Then ride the pine the whole game due to his defensive liabilities. :thumbsup:
