Pat lalime retires

I don't get it. How does Ryan's towel boy retiring show how good he is, and what we can look forward to with our revamped defense?

I don't know maybe because the defense sucked with both goalies in and Ryan seemed to be the only one to win some? You're kidding right?

It was the same defense that played in front of both of them right? Even the forwards for that matter... Did any other backup do any better since Ryan has been #1? Not that I can recall anyway...

Oh! Now I get it! You are saying that Ryan being able to win despite last year's defense was a sign of how good Miller is, not that Lalime blew chunks?

Understanding you point, I still disagree. Lalime did blow chunks last year, and the year before. But he was a respectable goalie for a while in the league, and ruff mismanaged him, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I didn't state Lalime didn't blow chunks. Since Biron left (whose a hell of a lot more respectable to me than Lalime!) what backup other than Enroth did better? Or is it just my imagination we didn't have a medicore defense. The point I was making is it's still the same team in front of whoever is between the pipes!

Or are you saying that Lalime would have done as good as Ryan did last year if he was played the games Miller was?

Thibault was 3-4-2

Conklin was 1-2

Telqvist was 2-1-0 with a 2.35 GAA and 0.928save percentage.

Lalime was 9-26-5 in his 3 years in Buffalo

That's what we have had. 15 games by backups not named, Biron, Lalime or Enroth. A pretty small sample size to draw any conclusion.

I didn't miss anyone, did I?

To answer your question, apparently everyone not named Biron and Enroth did better than Lalime.

Did you see the part where I said Lalime blew chunks?

No I saw it just don't get your point.

No I saw it just don't get your point.

Then we are even. I can't tell if you are defending him or attacking him at this point. My point is everyone who played goal for the sabres since the lockout has played better than Lalime. How I got here I have no idea though, because I couldn't give a fig about a now retired crappy back up goalie.

Great guy, good starter at points through his career. Awful backup for us but always a team first guy. I wish more athletes had his mentality. I genuinely wish him the best on a long and successful career from this point. :)

I always thought Pat deserved more out of the skaters in front of him on the Sabres.

I wish him good luck in the new gig.
