Who the F is Pat Malone and why should anyone care?

There are two Pat Malones listed on Hockey DB. One spent two years at Suny Cortland, the other had an undistinguished career in the OHL and WHL.

Edit: Ah - you changed the thread title - that makes more sense.

Adding topics via Iphone (which likes to adjust words as it feels so inclined) is a pain.

Props to Lalime on a great career and I mean no offense by this but THANK GOD!! Because we all know this was the only way he wasn't coming back next season...

Darcy Regeir just announced that Lalime is to be Millers personal massage and psychological therapist in between periods.

Ted Black continued these words by stating that Commemorative Patrick Lalime Pom Poms will be given out to attendees of this seasons home opener.

Satire doesn't translate well on the interwebs. Were you referring to hockey game periods or ... nevermind.

I hated the wrap he got with the Sabres. He may not have been what he used to be but he was always a class individual and a good to great goalie for a nice period of time during his career.

Had he won an occassional game he started, oh what might have been. There is no such thing as a sure bet. But coming in at incredibly high odds was the Sabres would lose whatever game here started.

I didn't have a huge qualm with him until the Tampa Bay game this past season. I was sitting at center ice, and watched the play develop, watched him try to clear it...and end up passing it to the Tampa Player, and then laying down and playing dead as it was shoveled over him...

if I could find the video I would post it. But that was when I really started to dislike him strongly.

No doubt he was a class individual, but unfortunately that doesn't translate into being a good player. Or even a decent player. :nana: I'll say that I hate the FACT that he got such a bad wrap with the Sabres -- as in, I hate that he played poorly enough to earn himself that wrap -- because he deserved to end his career on a higher note. But his play justified his reputation as a bad goaltender in the last several years.

I don't know what to think of Lalime's last few years. He was/is definitely a class act and all-in-for-the-team guy. It's possible he could have had better stats if Ruff would have played him more; and it's possible that he suffered from the same mental/self-esteem issues Tim Connolly did: "no one loves me 'cause I suck", "doesn't matter how much or where I'm playing, the fans think I suck, so I suck."

Glad to see he got a job somewhere, though.

Don't be fooled. Lalime is watching the diificulty Darcy is having getting Enroth signed and is using this as leverage to squeeze more money from Darcy to come out of retirement.

Maybe this just shows how good Miller really is and what we can look forward to with this revamped defense. Just saying...

This is respectable.

I don't get it. How does Ryan's towel boy (with all due respect for his accomplishments early in his career) retiring show how good Ryan is, and what we can look forward to with our revamped defense?
