Bmwolf21 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Price too high for Flyers(at moment) for Nash. May re-engage later. JVR,Bobrovski, Schenn or Couturier believed to be part of asking price. If I were Howson/Patrick I'd ask for three or all four of those listed.
Eleven Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 If I were Howson/Patrick I'd ask for three or all four of those listed. Same here. If they're going to shed Nash, they need to get, in return, a group of players around whom to rebuild.
Bmwolf21 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Same here. If they're going to shed Nash, they need to get, in return, a group of players around whom to rebuild. Exactly. I'd also flip Carter somewhere else and see what they can get in return.
Eleven Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Exactly. I'd also flip Carter somewhere else and see what they can get in return. They're not going to get much for him with that long contract. They got completely suckered there.
BetterDays06 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Kubina to Flyers for Kalinski and two picks. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=388202 James Neal SIgns 6 year deal with pens averaging about 5 million starting in the 2012-2013 season.. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=617752
shrader Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Same here. If they're going to shed Nash, they need to get, in return, a group of players around whom to rebuild. And that price tag is exactly why he won't go anywhere until the offseason.
Bmwolf21 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 They're not going to get much for him with that long contract. They got completely suckered there. Probably true, but as we've discussed - there is always an ego out there who thinks they can "fix" him and it may be a case of addition by subtraction, so get what you can and move on.
Bmwolf21 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 John Buccigross tweet: St. Louis Blues, 1st team in NHL history to have 2 'tenders with 6 shutouts in the same season. Jaroslav Halak and Brian Elliot #netzero
Bmwolf21 Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Wow, Drew Miller looks old. My wife and I said the same thing when they showed a shot of him in the dressing room during the NHL 36/Lidstrom episode. He looks like he is in his 50s. I think I'd shave my head completely if I was that grey that young.
Eleven Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Interesting "look" that Cal Clutterbuck is sporting, too.
Redemption City Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Nicer hair: Drew Miller or Cal Clutterbuck
TrueBlueGED Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Wow, Drew Miller looks old. Would you rather have that hair or Ryan's offset eyes? Personally I'd take the hair, can always dye it and look normal. Not much you can do with mismatched eyes.
darksabre Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Interesting "look" that Cal Clutterbuck is sporting, too. He does that for warmups every game. Really has adopted that "old school" look and run with it.
Eleven Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 He does that for warmups every game. Really has adopted that "old school" look and run with it. He wouldn't be out of place in that scene at the end of Blazing Saddles with that look. Would you rather have that hair or Ryan's offset eyes? Personally I'd take the hair, can always dye it and look normal. Not much you can do with mismatched eyes. Idunno. Looks to me like Ryan's doing all right.
darksabre Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 He wouldn't be out of place in that scene at the end of Blazing Saddles with that look. I might as well out myself as a Clutterbuck fan-boy. He's just the kind of guy the Sabres need on the team. http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/44725-VIDEO-Minnesota-Wild-forward-Cal-Clutterbuck-wasnt-always-a-big-bodychecker.html

darksabre Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 He looks like the saloon owner from Deadwood: http://www.imdb.com/...03328/tt0348914 I always think of gangs of new york.

darksabre Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Oh, I'm just makin' fun of his hair. I wouldn't mind him on the team. His hair is half of the selling point :P
Eleven Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Wow, other-Kassian and other-Thornton with one long, drawn-out bout.
Weave Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Wow, other-Kassian and other-Thornton with one long, drawn-out bout. I really enjoyed seeing Thornton all bruised up in the box. But I have to give him grudging respect for making a helluva bout with a much bigger, stronger guy.
Cereal Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 The Devils aren't the boring old defensive-minded team* they once were, are they? Up one (now two) in the third they had all three forwards pressuring Habs D-men in the Canadiens' zone, giving up an easy quick three-on-one the other way. *For the record, I never minded the trap, etc.
Eleven Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 I really enjoyed seeing Thornton all bruised up in the box. But I have to give him grudging respect for making a helluva bout with a much bigger, stronger guy. Well, you're the fight king, but I really saw an even match, size-wise. Maybe I need to take another look at other-Kassian.

According to HockeyDB.com Kassian is listed at 6'4" and 232. Thornton is listed at 6' 1" 202. They look to me like they are both bigger than listed there but in the same proportion.
