TrueBlueGED Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Winter Classic will be Detroit-Toronto at Univ of Michigan. On the First of January this time. I like all of these things. Yes, I greatly look forward to this game, should be a lot of fun to watch. Although I will be sad if Lidstrom does finally retire after this year, love watching him play.
Eleven Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Winter Classic will be Detroit-Toronto at Univ of Michigan. On the First of January this time. There goes our record crowd.
Eleven Posted February 8, 2012 Report Posted February 8, 2012 Comerica will have the alumni game on New Years Eve Thomas is at it again... I'm not sure what he's "at" there. What is this fight for religious freedom? I thought we were doing pretty well on that topic in the US.
X. Benedict Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 In the "that's nice, but" category: Scott Gomez with his first goal of the season.
darksabre Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 In the "that's nice, but" category: Scott Gomez with his first goal of the season. I bet that falls under "most sarcastic applause at a hockey game ever"
Eleven Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 In the "that's nice, but" category: Scott Gomez with his first goal of the season. One year and how many days is it? They have done this: http://didgomezscore.com/
spndnchz Posted February 10, 2012 Author Report Posted February 10, 2012 Can we keep the political crap out of this thread! Please go here guys http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/20917-ot-state-of-the-union-address/
... Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Please go here guys http://forums.sabres...-union-address/ Thanks - and sorry, I sincerely wasn't trying to start an argument. Just answering the question posed.
frissonic Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 hey, so ... i heard scott gomez scored finally. AND he got a goal last night. ZING!
... Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 That's actually why I came into this thread last night! I read he hasn't scored in a YEAR...or did I misunderstand and it was just this season?
shrader Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 hey, so ... i heard scott gomez scored finally. AND he got a goal last night. ZING! I really wished that had gone on a bit longer. We all need a good laugh. Another one was lost in the shuffle thanks to him scoring though. Chris Phillips scored his first goal in 75 games last night... then added another one. He gets a free pass being a defensemen, but that's a pretty interesting turn of events. And chz, you missed one.
darksabre Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 That's actually why I came into this thread last night! I read he hasn't scored in a YEAR...or did I misunderstand and it was just this season? Nope, literally a year. Over a whole calendar year. Yikes.
... Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Nope, literally a year. Over a whole calendar year. Yikes. Wow. Montreal seems to be as consistently messed up as the Sabres are. It's one of the premier hockey cities on the planet, how can they be such a mess?
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Wow. Montreal seems to be as consistently messed up as the Sabres are. It's one of the premier hockey cities on the planet, how can they be such a mess? Only recently.
Eleven Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Wow. Montreal seems to be as consistently messed up as the Sabres are. It's one of the premier hockey cities on the planet, how can they be such a mess? Neither Montreal nor the Sabres are consistently messed up. But they're messed up this year; that's for sure.
Eleven Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Don't know where to put this, and don't want a new thread, so here it is. Minnesota and Denver U. are on NBCSN right now, and it's really a fun game to watch. If NBCSN is going to focus on all levels of hockey like this, I'm going to be very happy.

Props to nbcsn for having the weekly college games. Great for hockey fans, great for the college programs and smart business move for nbcsn.
darksabre Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 This Winnipeg-Pittsburgh game has some great flow to it. Good fast hockey,
Iron Crotch Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Phantom penalty in the Bruins - Predators game allows the Bruins to tie it up in the last minute. Bad calls will happen, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to what is and isn't called these days.
Bmwolf21 Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Jeez, watching the Ducks-Blue Jackets game, and the Jackets are just brutal. Had a 5-on-3 for over a minute and didn't get one SOG and didn't get the puck to Nash once. Awful.
Andrew Amerk Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 This Winnipeg-Pittsburgh game has some great flow to it. Good fast hockey, The flow of the Wings-Flyers game was good too.
spndnchz Posted February 13, 2012 Author Report Posted February 13, 2012 Detroit with 20 straight home wins. Jeez. Detroit can break the record with a win Tuesday night over the Dallas Stars at Joe Louis Arena.
Bmwolf21 Posted February 13, 2012 Report Posted February 13, 2012 Detroit with 20 straight home wins. Jeez. Detroit can break the record with a win Tuesday night over the Dallas Stars at Joe Louis Arena. From Buccigross' Twitter: @Buccigross Red Wings have outscored their opponents, 81–30, during 20-game home winning streak. Have allowed more than two goals just twice#elias
