bunomatic Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Where's Luongo? Coach afraid he would get shelled today? Ha ha,ya probably. I think its more of a case of believing in your back up and knowing he's capable of getting you the win.
deluca67 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Where's Luongo? Coach afraid he would get shelled today? The Canucks are another team forced to go with the lessor goalie because of status and contract.
bunomatic Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 The Canucks are another team forced to go with the lessor goalie because of status and contract. Only difference is they're 2nd overall in the league tied with the B's. The Sabres on the other hand...

LabattBlue Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Marchand with a cheap shot in the 2nd period submarining Salo.
Bmwolf21 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Marchand with a cheap shot in the 2nd period submarining Salo. That was brutal. Lotta cheap shots from the B's....
Bmwolf21 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 It involved Lucic, so no surprise... The Game Misconduct penalty assessed to Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic during NHL Game #598 this afternoon in Boston has been rescinded, National Hockey League Senior Vice President and Director of Officiating Terry Gregson announced today. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=610504

It was recorded in the gamesheet at the time as leaving the bench. Then after intermission they were talking "Blah blah...we don't know what the misconduct involved..blah blah." I didn't see it, but I'm sure they don't want star power out for 10 games without someone dead on the ice.

It looked like they could have gotten him for either leaving the bench or 3rd man in - I think he wrestled away from one altercation and grabbed a Canuck who was tied up with another Bruin (I was half-watching while getting my kid ready for his hockey practice so I don't know what the story was).

But he's clearly not one of the first fix Boston skaters into the scrum.

But he's clearly not one of the first fix Boston skaters into the scrum. Now that I look at it more it looks like Lucic was about the 4th or 5th man in toward the end so. Hard to tell since the camera cuts to the fight and then back to the scrum. Again, this is where they need picture in picture. One camera on the scrum, the other on the scrap.
sabres1970 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Wow, would you look at that. The Habs win two a row. This is truly hockey purgatory right now.
Pville29 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Wow, would you look at that. The Habs win two a row. This is truly hockey purgatory right now. It's only the 4th time they win back 2 back
sabres1970 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 It's only the 4th time they win back 2 back Well we haven't since the first week of November. So we shouldn't be the ones talking.

sabres1970 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 CBC Hotstove reporting Derek Roy is on the trading block. This will be an interesting indictment of Regier on whether he other values his players. If it falls through, it totally justifies Burke's comment. Let's just hope he's part of huge package deal for Getzlaf, although if I were a betting man I'd say definitely not.
Andrew Amerk Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Briere with a hat trick and a fight today.
darksabre Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Briere with a hat trick and a fight today. I can't think of a better reason for firing Darcy. The longer Briere excels the bigger Regier's Folly becomes. Oi vey.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Iginla gets no.500 against Wild. Good, now they can trade him!

deluca67 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 If what falls through? I believe he is referring to a potential Roy deal. With the rumor that Roy is on the trading block some fans may believe a specific deal is being discussed. Fans are frustrated, Regier may very well be working the phones trying to make a deal. At this time Regier will get zero credit for any attempted trade. Fans want to see results, if Regier can't get a deal done, no matter the reason, it will be viewed as his failure. IMO, it will be justified.

I'm not thrilled by DR's comments from Carolina, and I do want to see some moves (as I've noted in a couple of other threads), but if the best offer Regier is getting for an injured center is, I don't know, some seventh defenseman or something, then he shouldn't make the deal. There should be criteria for consequences, is all I'm saying.

Regier will be a victim of his past inactivity. I keep going back to the thought of how Regier can possibly complete a trade with a player that we all know he doesn't want to part with.
