Andrew Amerk Posted November 8, 2011 Report Posted November 8, 2011 He...rubs me the wrong way... I think he tries waaaayyyy to hard to try and sound smart and clever, and it just comes off as annoying and snotty. That's how I feel about Mike Emrick.
spndnchz Posted November 8, 2011 Author Report Posted November 8, 2011 Paille gets crushed in the dome by a slapper tonight. Yikes. http://thebiglead.co...e-face-tonight/ Hope he's alright. Paille suffered broken nose, facial lacerations. Surgery tomorrow. Day-to-day.

Eleven Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 NHL Network is right now saying that Stamkos is the ONLY probably 50-goal scorer for this year, and the network specifically mentioned Vanek as a "no" in the dialogue. NHLN's rationale: Vanek hasn't done it before. Now, I must appeal to you amateur logicians out there...
mercury Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I meant the game at the end of the season we played against Philly that was tied and they let us run the clock out. Despite how disgraceful it was, that was still an awesome moment to experience.
waldo Posted November 10, 2011 Report Posted November 10, 2011 I always liked 4x4 in the first ot then 3x3 in the second. 2x2 in the third if you need it. No shoot-outs

I don't know what happened to him, but its a shame that they didn't discover this switch years ago. And Peter LaPurple may just be my new hero. The sad part though is that Boucher was probably completely content with them doing that.
spndnchz Posted November 10, 2011 Author Report Posted November 10, 2011 Crosby might be back next week says Bylsma.

The sad part though is that Boucher was probably completely content with them doing that. He played one year with a true one center so far in his career, as a rookie,(or was it two?) and with an effective pp for 1 1/2 years. He has 50+ goal potential with those two critical pieces in place. He also has 90 pt potential, which if achieved, would place him in the elite class by itself..imo
Bmwolf21 Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Blue Jackets were busy tonight. Swapped defensemen with St Louis - CBJ sends Kris Russell to STL for prospect Nikita Nikitin. LINK Unconfirmed report that they send Fedor Tyutin to the Isles for Evgeni Nabokov (via twitter). EDIT: Now reporting that it is unofficial and that Nabokov has a NTC and has not been asked to waive it.
Andrew Amerk Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Crosby might be back next week says Bylsma. Hope not. I'm not missing him.
Weave Posted November 11, 2011 Report Posted November 11, 2011 Hope not. I'm not missing him. He's good for the NHL. Hockey misses him. And as much as I don't want to see Pittsburgh (or any other team for that matter) do better than the Sabres, I want to see him back in the league and performing at a high level. There isn't enough talent concentration in the league as it is. We don't need more talent sitting on the sidelines.
spndnchz Posted November 11, 2011 Author Report Posted November 11, 2011 Why is this called a penalty shot? He barely touched him. http://video.predators.nhl.com/videocenter/console?hlg=20112012,2,213&event=ANA428 Erat scored on the penalty shot.

He may have made an even greater impact on the league with this injury though. It was a completely incidental hit, but it definitely opened the league's eyes on the importance of preventing head injuries.

He saw the stick go up under the arm and at that point he has to call it. By the book, it is a hook and with that timing, it probably should be a penalty shot.

It does make me think of a play with Vanek in the past week or so. I forget which game it was, but it was a relatively weak call, but should have been called a penalty shot due to that same exact timing.

deluca67 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 Drew Miller scores his first of the season He is the Richard Stamos of the NHL.

I just dont like him, and don't miss him. His absence gives the NHL a great chance to push and promote other upcoming or current stars, but they are missing the boat on it.

What is exciting about Crosbys game? I understand that he puts a ton of points on the board, but I wouldn't describe him as flashy or exciting.
