deluca67 Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 And don't forget you are still taking credit for mentioning Regher before anyone and there is no record of the lost posts to prove otherwise. Even without a specific post remaining with Regher's name, I believe I have mentioned the qualities Regher brings and the Sabres desperate need to add them many times over the years.
wjag Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Rangers blow a 4-1 3rd period lead on Ottawa and are now in OT 4-4. Ottawa is a tough out all of a sudden..
Andrew Amerk Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 I agree with the first bit--it does seem to be the role players who make the difference. But I don't think the Sabres have a lot of "Pujols types." Poo Holes.
thesportsbuff Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 Kessel with another solid effort. He and your boy Connolly looked good together. Connolly is averaging a point per game with the Leafs! :nana:
Marvelo Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 A friend of my lives in TO and I asked him why is Reimer always smiling. It looks strange. My friend said he thinks Reimer's got a religious affiliation that brings him great joy.
deluca67 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 He and your boy Connolly looked good together. Connolly is averaging a point per game with the Leafs! :nana: Problem is that Connolly can average a point a game and only end up with 20-30 points for the season.

deluca67 Posted October 30, 2011 Report Posted October 30, 2011 don't know if you've noticed it, he's got a permanent smile fixed on his face. It's the weirdest. He is a young kid playing goal for one the marquee NHL franchises in the NHL's premier hockey market. I say the kid has a lot to smile about.

Regehr 2

LGR4GM Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 I wish we could trade Roy and picks for Jordan Staal, at least then we would have a tougher center, but an injured one... ug we just need to be tougher is the point.

thesportsbuff Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Well, last game was by far Roy's best game of the year. If he can get hot it could go a long ways for his linemates.
LGR4GM Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 How is Roy not tough? His last full season he had 27 hits in 80 games... of course last season he had 16hits in 35 games (would come up to 38hits if he played the full season). Also he's 5'9" 188lbs. So I am saying IMO, he is neither physical nor strong enough, which is what I am using to gauge "toughness", to be the type of center our skilled wingers need.
X. Benedict Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Centers usually aren't the position for hits. Otherwise they are wandering from the middle

Briere.
bunomatic Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Well, last game was by far Roy's best game of the year. If he can get hot it could go a long ways for his linemates. And for my fantasy pool
LGR4GM Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 One name. Briere. exactly. Briere was special... and he was physical outside of hits... the sabres current batch of centers other than Adam/Goose are not.
LabattBlue Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 exactly. Briere was special... and he was physical outside of hits... the sabres current batch of centers other than Adam/Goose are not. I try...I really try to ignore your posts. Then you suck me back in with a post stating that Adam is physical. Seriously? He is about as soft as they come. Did you just look at his height and weight and declare him to be physical, or do you actually watch the games?

He is about as soft as they come. Did you just look at his height and weight and declare him to be physical, or do you actually watch the games? Adam has shown some physicality but he needs more. So for "as soft as they come"... do you mean Leino? And yes I don't actually watch hockey games, I just know all the stuff I know through osmosis... Also, someone else suggested Adam's physicality in another thread. I merely agreed that I have scene some of that in his play but would like to see a lot more. Do you just want to argue and be obtuse? or do you actually read most of the posts in a thread?
spndnchz Posted November 1, 2011 Author Report Posted November 1, 2011 exactly. Briere was special... and he was physical outside of hits... the sabres current batch of centers other than Adam/Goose are not. You misread me. I am saying Briere was not physical, but a perfect center. Most centers aren't "physical".

Actually you said the Sabres physical centers are Gaustad and Adam? Then you begin backtracking and I'm sure if I had the time, you would debate what you said all night long, but instead I'll go back to ignoring you.
james duncan Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 I like Adam. But I think he has benefitted greatly from being on the line he was. I'd look forward to see what he brings to the team on another line. I'm afraid he may become invisible. And I have not seen him be physical yet. BTW, speaking of centers, Briere, in addition to Pronger, is out for tomorrow night's game.
