thesportsbuff Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Kessel is the hottest player in the league right now. I only saw the first 10 minutes and then the third period on, but he was playing possessed in the third + ot.
X. Benedict Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Kessel is the hottest player in the league right now. the first 10 minutes and then the third period on, but he was playing possessed in the third + ot. There's no one hotter. Him and Lupal seem to click. Hard to know what to make of the Leafs start just yet. Combined record of Teams who they've beaten 5-14-1, but this early in the year, a point is a point. They play Boston tomorrow.
Eleven Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 Po sez kdlsa; jfioepi ifadio lm uuuuuurp. Republican propaganda? Or a cellphone stuck in a pocket? Difficult to tell, these days.
waldo Posted October 20, 2011 Report Posted October 20, 2011 "Po sez kdlsa; jfioepi ifadio lm uuuuuurp." Republican propaganda? Or a cellphone stuck in a pocket? Difficult to tell, these days. Perhaps a message from our President on the economy? We may need a mirror and some smoke to read it! Then again things may have gotten so bad he thinks it best to speak to us in the Oompa-Loompa language? He did take several courses in Oompa-Loompa at Harvard according to Politico.
X. Benedict Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Man, Neal got his 7th against the Habs.. The guy should quit this week. :D Holy smokes.
shrader Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 The guy should quit this week. :D Holy smokes. Well he has played 9 games and is a -2 on the season. I wouldn't complain if I was a Penguin fan, but I'd rather what Kessel and Vanek have done so far.
Calvin Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Bruins brought the Leaves crashing back to earth last night..
spndnchz Posted October 21, 2011 Author Report Posted October 21, 2011 Mikko Koivu cut by Heatley's skate last night. 10 stitches awfully close to his neck. http://tvasports.ca/video/1229811858001
LGR4GM Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Bruins brought the Leaves crashing back to earth last night.. Its fall and the leafs are falling... all is right with the world
qwksndmonster Posted October 21, 2011 Report Posted October 21, 2011 Its fall and the leafs are falling... all is right with the world I usually call the team by the proper pluralization, which makes them sound even more stupid... Unless it's a Canada thing, in which case I'm being an ignorant American B-)
wonderbread Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 I usually call the team by the proper pluralization, which makes them sound even more stupid... Unless it's a Canada thing, in which case I'm being an ignorant American B-) Its Leafs dude. Not Leaves. Not sure why it is but it is.
qwksndmonster Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Its Leafs dude. Not Leaves. Not sure why it is but it is. I know it's Leafs. That's WHY I call them the Leaves.
Eleven Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 I know it's Leafs. That's WHY I call them the Leaves. Same here. It's a little bit of immature fun at the Leaves' expense. blow...leaves...blow...
OverPowerYou Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Why do we have to hate a team that has been so bad for so long?
FogBat Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 If only he would start playing like he has a pair. I'm sorry, but that is just plain wrong. I wish I could give you the benefit of a doubt that maybe you might have forgotten that he had testicular cancer late in 2006. I hope that's the case. Now, on to something else. I saw the headline for this yesterday, and just skimmed through it. Yes, it alluded to Luongo's problems with previous Octobers. However, I have to wonder if the Canucks are really beginning to miss Christian Ehrhoff right about now.
deluca67 Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Same here. It's a little bit of immature fun at the Leaves' expense. blow...leaves...blow... Comes across more like jealousy.
Bullwinkle Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Why do we have to hate a team that has been so bad for so long? Goes back to Punch Imlach.
Eleven Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Comes across more like jealousy. Jealous of what, exactly? The food at their arena is better, but that's about it. Oh, and their center can outdrink our center. Big deal.
FogBat Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Goes back to Punch Imlach. That's quite a bit of animosity right there. Almost like Bills-Dolphis.
carpandean Posted October 22, 2011 Report Posted October 22, 2011 Jealous of what, exactly? The food at their arena is better, but that's about it. Oh, and their center can outdrink our center. Big deal. That's because he's not "of age" yet. I'm sure that Roy can give Timmy a run for his money and who knows about Ville.

Big deal. Sabre fans want to see themselves as the most fervent hockey fans in the NHL, at best we are a distant second behind behind Canadian fans. That is why people get so angry when they take over the arena during Sabre/Leafs games. It's a jealousy spawned from insecurity, another example is the "Hockey Heaven" which is a clear ripoff of Detroit's "Hockey Town."

And they can't freaking pluralize the word "leaf" correctly, so they deserve it. I've been on both sides of the "taking over an arena" situation, and I don't think the anger that the home fans feel has anything to do with jealousy, either. I agree that most Canadians are more fervent hockey fans than most Americans, including Buffalonians. And I thought that "Hockey Town" was ripped off by Detroit to begin with! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hockeytown

We might be second to Montreal but I bet it's not as distant as you think. Also, it's not jealousy or insecurity. It's just taking jabs at your closest rival. It's not really all that odd. Is it jealousy when Rags fans shout "Potvin Sucks!"?

Learned something new today..
