LGR4GM Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 Colorado continues to win... I wonder if Varlamov and there young top guys will be enough to keep them rolling... interesting to watch considering A lot of people including myself thought they would suck a lot more. Selanne: old and still scoring

qwksndmonster Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 the laughs beat the Candiens (garbage) Flames (garbage's garbage) and the Sens (If Garbage's garbage puked you would be close) We Beat: Kings, Ducks, and the Pens and lost a close game to Carolina... hence my laughing and slight outrage. Investing any thought into power rankings is worthless, but I agree it is hard not to gawk sometimes. Just waiting for Connolly to ###### up his game. lol Connolly and Kessel combine for more points than the Sedins by the end of this season and Connolly only plays in 30 games

dEnnis the Menace Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 The leafs haven't lost yet and look pretty good. the avs are 4-1 with wins over boston and montreal, and the islanders have won three straight. buffalo dropped one to the (at the time) winless hurricanes. i agree with whoever it was that said power rankings are worthless this early in the season, but regardless... just because buffalo dropped a few spots doesn't mean those other teams are "better" than us... it's mostly just who's "hot" right now. bottom line is the sabres went 1-1 since last week's power rankings. Just an FYI, Carolina got their first win the game before they played Buffalo against none other than Boston...just a fun fact

Also I totally respect what the Avs have done so? why did you mention them? You are right these do mean nothing. Why does everything have to be an argument with you? I mentioned them because you started your post with, "in what weird parallel dimension are the avalanche and the Islanders better than us? Seriously?" before going on to complain about the Leafs being higher than us. I was just letting you know they all moved ahead of Buffalo because the Sabres played just two games during that period and went 1-1 with a loss to Carolina and a win over a Penguins team with no Crosby or Malkin. That doesn't exactly warrant being #1 when the Leafs were undefeated, the Avs had won 4 straight, and the Islanders won 3 straight while playing very well in the process. It's not worth getting worked up about. If we had played more than two games and won more than one of them, we probably would've been higher than all of those teams. Just an FYI, Carolina got their first win the game before they played Buffalo against none other than Boston...just a fun fact  thanks, i must have read their schedule backwards. wasn't paying attention to the dates lol

DR HOLLIDAY Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Ottawa getting hammered again tonight, 4-0 in the first..........LOL, gonna be a real long year for Sens fans..........
darksabre Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Ah much better. Thank you Drew Stafford for making a great play.
Eleven Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Ottawa getting hammered again tonight, 4-0 in the first..........LOL, gonna be a real long year for Sens fans.......... It's tough when my two second-favorite teams* are playing each other. *1. Whoever is playing Ottawa, and 2. whoever is playing Filly.
X. Benedict Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Ottawa gives up 7. Great cats. They've already given up 30 goals this season.

Andrew Amerk Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Apparently, today became the 1st time the Canadiens have lost their first three home games since 1938.
Andrew Amerk Posted October 19, 2011 Report Posted October 19, 2011 Bruins were uglier than usual tonight. Great jobs by Chara and Horton trying to fight players who clearly didn't want to. Nice 2-4 start to the season.

And I said that the leafs have beaten garbage teams and if power rankings are based solely on records than it would be called "standings"  So I still do not understand why the Leafs were ranked higher. I am not arguing, because that is a fact. (I would apply that to the Islanders as well considering the lightning and the rangers have started very poorly and they beat a Wild team that has some very suspect defense)

All of nature moves towards order. Even in Power Rankings. - Master Po Leafs have been struggling despite their wins. I've seen a few of their games and haven't been impressed yet. Remier has looked very good at times and shaky at others and Phil Kessel has looked like the best player in the league, and we all know that won't hold up. Tonight, after 40 minutes, the Leafs only had 4 of their 12 forwards attempt a shot. Also, the Leafs have yet to play outside of Air Canada Centre.
