darksabre Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Why the heck are the B's parading around with the Cup? It's not theirs anymore...
carpandean Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Why the heck are the B's parading around with the Cup? It's not theirs anymore... Isn't it theirs until someone else wins it?
darksabre Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Isn't it theirs until someone else wins it? It's not even the same roster. They had all summer to celebrate. It's a new season now. It doesn't belong to anyone.
Cereal Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Why the heck are the B's parading around with the Cup? It's not theirs anymore... I couldn't take it after the first few got it, so I turned the channel. What did the new additions to the Bruins roster do during the parade? Were they standing around awkwardly or just not on the ice? When I saw the championship banner being risen, I couldn't help but picture a Sabres one being risen a year from now. :pirate:

But re-raising the Cup is just...weird.
Assquatch Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 CBC in HD for free over my antenna. Love it.
JJFIVEOH Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 A new year and another round of "How in the hell does Chara get away with it"!!!!! Anybody watching the game knows what I'm talking about. Pierre said, oh he knew Chara was coming he should have gotten out of the way........ unbelievable.

Dumb place for Giroux to pull up IMO. Chara doesn't clearly initiate that contact.

X. Benedict Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Brian Burke picks up Steckle early Tuesday. Tonight he wins 18 face-offs in 15 min of ice time. 2-0 shutout.
deluca67 Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 If the Bruins/Flyers game is in anyway a reflection of the quality of play we will see in the NHL this will be a great year. Teams in the East better keep an eye on Jagr. He is skating like he has something to prove. I hope he keeps it going the entire year.
Eleven Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Raising the banner is always fun. I liked that part. But re-raising the Cup is just...weird. If the Sabres win it on foreign ice and skate it around the rink during the following home opener, I won't be pissed at all.
Eleven Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Aaron Boogaard cleared of charges in his brother's death; still under investigation for vowel theft: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=377538

I enjoyed watching a game again, but I wonder what can be learned from it. Other than Marchand the Bruins forwards couldn't get a shot off. The thing I wonder about Jagr is if he can forecheck in Lavi's system a whole year. He's still a beast on the walls with the puck though.
darksabre Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Really not liking the numbers on the helmets.
thesportsbuff Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Jagr line w/ JVR and Giroux was damn impressive tonight. Toronto shook off an ugly first period and controlled flow for the rest of the game... I forgot how exciting Phil Kessel is to watch. I wish we had him, dude has a bullet for a wrist shot and is all over the ice. If Connolly gets healthy and plays a well as he did two years ago, that could be a dynamic duo.
SwampD Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Really not liking the numbers on the helmets. C'mon. It's like NASCAR on ice.
darksabre Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 C'mon. It's like NASCAR on ice.
X. Benedict Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Shouldn't somebody start the gameday thread. It's tomorrow in Finland already.
Taro T Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Shouldn't somebody start the gameday thread. It's tomorrow in Finland already. But it's still yesterday over here. How can they start a game day thread today, when it's tomorrow over there and yesterday here. Somebody needs to add the Spaceballs dialog here where they're watching the video of the movie.
wjag Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Yesterday was the last day Boston was in first place in the division.

I just wonder if his body can last an entire season at this point. I suppose that question's always going to come up with any player approaching 40.
