ShraderD?

He's a tool.

That banana story that 11 linked to is pretty despicable. There are plenty of stupid people out there, but it's hard to believe that they're still that stupid.

It's even harder to believe that some people still find that to be amusing or clever.

So. Who are you paying to get the plus 1's? Or do you just take the $ from one pocket and put it in the other?

Isn't that something you can find out with your magic moderator wand?

I'm pretty confident that a majority of people still find things that aren't amusing or clever, to be amusing or clever. The fact that Jersey Shore even exists, or that Two and a Half Men is still on the air, are perfect examples.

Yup, I just compared television to racism.

Humans love to slow down and stare at car crashes.

It's not hard to believe at all.

It's disgusting what that one person did. I also find it disgusting that the people around him didn't immediately point him out to ushers or security.

On a positive note, it actually got ESPN to cover hockey for a little bit.

To be fair it's that same base level stupidity that allows jersey shore and racism to exist.

$2000 can buy a lot of bananas.

Do people normally bring bananas to hockey games in Canada? Do they sell them at the concession stand? If not, it proves the act was clearly premeditated and worthy of far more than just a possible $2000 fine.

That would be a nice story, but honestly after what Simmonds said to Avery, I could care less if they even pursued this guy. Kind of a joke really. It isn't the first time there's been a racist incident in a hockey game, yet the entire hockey world came to the support of Simmonds when this happened -- he "thanks" them and shows his true character by going out and calling an opponent anti-gay slurs two days later, as if that's any different. At least the first incident is just a random fan that probably doesn't go to too many hockey games judging by his lack of respect for the game, but then you have the "victim" who's actually a player in the league, after EVERYONE came to his support, saying things like that? I think one is a little bigger deal than the other, and hint, it's not the banana guy. What a fool Simmonds is.

From LondonCommunityNews

At a media conference held today at London Police Service headquarters, Chief Brad Duncan announced they’ve charged 26-year-old Chris Moorhouse of London with “engage in a prohibited activity on premises” under the Trespass to Property Act.

The matter will now be handled in the Provincial Offenses Court, Duncan said, and if convicted, the penalty could include a fine of up to $2,000. A court date has not been set.

He added the banana toss “did not meet the threshold” of a hate crime. It also does not fall under any form of mischievous behaviour since the banana did not directly interfere with the play, Duncan said.

Police received an official complaint from the John Labatt Centre (JLC) after the venue had received a number of tips citing similar descriptions.

Duncan said the London man is remorseful about what happened and he does not want to see any vigilante justice take place now that the banana thrower’s identity is known.

“As chief of the London Police Service, I ask that members of the public allow the court process to unfold and that no one take matters into their own hands,” Duncan said.

The host of the infamous event last Thursday (Sept. 22), the JLC, released a statement after the press conference.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the City of London, the police department and the many fans who came forward with information leading to this arrest,” the statement said.

Asked about his personal view on the situation, Duncan said he shared similar views to the general public.

“Like any others, I was disgusted by the incident,” he said.

As being a bigoted ###### that taunts people with fruit is not a crime in most places. Some kind of civil suit could probably do more to stitch the guy up.

Hopefully this clown's employer is not of the same mindset and has already sent him packing.
