LGR4GM Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Marchand signed by Bruins 2 yrs 5 million total. There ya go Mr Ennis. I have a sneaky suspicion that Ennis will be much better than Marchand going forward. If he gets signed for 3yrs 2.5 per that would be awesome but I dont think that will happen.

If he comes out with 40 goals and 90 points next year, I guess he'll earn something bigger.

How many years can the contract be so Ennis would still be a RFA when it expires? Ideally you get him signed so you can get another RFA contract out of him or in this new world do you try to get him signed for 5 years $15 mil?

If Ennis is in that ballpark, the Sabres will be doing very well.

After 7 years he can be unrestricted, so you're looking for a 3 year deal.

Ennis was getting top 6 ice time 5x5, but was not really a factor on the PP. Where he really needs to improve on his touches. Marchand was getting time on low lines and the kill, and is explosive out of the trap. Given their roles it would be quite bad if Ennis doesn't match Marchand's numbers.

I am talking destroying his numbers. Marchand I compared to ennis because they are both RFA players with only 1 good year under their belts. Ennis has far more upside in pure talent then Marchand IMO and I think Ennis will again be much better this year than he was last year. The consensus around here is that he will get about 55-60 pts if all goes well. Some have suggested Gerbe will surpass Ennis. I think Ennis will drop a 70pt season and be one of our best players this season but time will tell. I think Marchand will be good but he wont drastically improve his numbers over last year. As far as PP goes, I assume that Leino, Ehrhoff and Myers will improve our PP and that will improve Ennis' PP as well. again just IMHO

X. Benedict Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 41 years old.. That's crazy.. He really hasn't lost much in terms of skating. And the hands are still there.
LGR4GM Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 73gp 31g 49a 80pts 41yrs old 2010-11season - Selanne is a first round hall of famer and an amazing player. I hope he has another amazing season in him.

thesportsbuff Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Just not in the first game. You know he'll be extra fired up, playing in his native finland... Buffalo is the designated home team, but I'm guessing it's going to be a pro-Teemu crowd. I wonder if playing a NHL game in his home country played any role in his decision to come back.
spndnchz Posted September 16, 2011 Author Report Posted September 16, 2011 Luke Schenn signs for 5 years at $3.6M per year.

korab rules Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 I saw that last week. GOON! Dude led with his elbow. There's no place in the game for that shite. He should be suspended until that kid is back playing.
spndnchz Posted September 16, 2011 Author Report Posted September 16, 2011 Good riddance. Can't stand that guy. Seconded. One of the few guys that I really hate in hockey. Heard an interview of his a few days back and he sounded like a pretty down-to-earth guy, but on the ice, he is intentionally dirty (not just walking that fine line, but will poke you in the eye if nobody's looking), then gives the "what did I do?" look when called or when somebody comes back at him. He takes being a pest to a level that I just can't stand. It just makes hockey look bad. But...but... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLoPa3KvAlc
qwksndmonster Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Who doesn't want to give Ryan Miller a big ol' bear hug?
carpandean Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 Who doesn't want to give Ryan Miller a big ol' bear hug? Looked more like a rectal exam or perhaps checking for a hernia (couldn't hear if he asked Ryan to turn his head and cough.)

darksabre Posted September 17, 2011 Report Posted September 17, 2011 According to TarikElBashir on twitter, Ovi not having a good first day of camp. Getting beat on line drills and swearing up a storm. Love it.
