dEnnis the Menace Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 You can turn it off, if you want. Settings-General-Keyboard I got very sick of my iPhone constantly changing Sabres to Sabers! I did the same thing, as I bought mine in the middle of the season, so I was constantly typing and correcting the auto-correct...
Miller30 Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Oh, I forgot about autocorrect. We need to bombard Apple with emails about the team name. I mean it. But the tourney is still for kids. yeah it sucks - Apple is trying to keep everyone all warm and fuzzy in their shell. I agree with the bombardment, too bad they won't listen. thanks for the clarification on the tourney
spndnchz Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 NJD Travis Zajac tore his Achilles tendon today. Out for three months.
korab rules Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 NJD Travis Zajac tore his Achilles tendon today. Out for three months. If it was a complete tear he will be out a lot longer than 3 months.
shrader Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 If it was a complete tear he will be out a lot longer than 3 months. That's what I was wondering. That seems like a short time frame for an achilles. New Jerseys had quite a run of significant injuries lately.
dEnnis the Menace Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 If it was a complete tear he will be out a lot longer than 3 months. My mom is in the army, and when she tore hers, it was a complete tear, and she couldn't go back for nearly a year.
spndnchz Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 If it was a complete tear he will be out a lot longer than 3 months. They are saying a tear not a rupture, which I guess is longer. Mine took about three months. it was explained to me that the Achilles is like a piece of rope, you can tear some of threads or completely sever it.
spndnchz Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 Changes to goal net explained. http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=0&id=121945 I like it. They're not sure if they are going to use it, but I like it.
Eleven Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 Changes to goal net explained. http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=0&id=121945 I like it. They're not sure if they are going to use it, but I like it. I like it too. That protective skirt around the bottom of the back of the net could be clear in its entirety, too, not just near the posts.
shrader Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 I caught the tail end of a show on the NHL Network last night that showed parts of this research and development camp. I barely saw any of it, but it I bet they air it again in the next couple days. So keep an eye open and you may be able to see some of these proposed rules/modifications.
Andrew Amerk Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 It looks like it's on for the next couple hours.
Andrew Amerk Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 On all three: "One thing I like about these guys is that they all lost in a Game Seven of the Stanley Cup finals. That has to be pretty good motivation for them." Interesting comment from TPegs.

To come that close and watch it slip away in an end all situation... those three especially are going to give it their all.
Andrew Amerk Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Here is a link to a Sporting News article about Marchand and Ennis. http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2011-08-21/marchand-bruins-quiet-on-contract-ennis-keeps-close-eye

Only if he also is "a catalyst in the ... playoff run"

Only if he also is "a catalyst in the ... playoff run" Agreed. Not to discredit what Marchand did as a rookie, but other than a few quips here and there about him, I barely knew who he was until the playoffs. But he was incredible in the post-season -- that's where he earned his money. He was a huge part of that team.

Only if he also is "a catalyst in the ... playoff run" For better or worse, this is probably not true ... if Ennis puts up numbers, he'll get paid. They always get their money ... Stafford scores 30 but the Sabres lose in first round? Gets paid. Bergenheim has his worst points per game season in 3 years but gets hot in the playoffs? Gets paid. (Granted, he was unrestricted, which Ennis would not be, but point is playoffs seem to only help, not hurt, players in negotiations ... )

I hadnt heard too much about Marchand either, then when the playoffs rolled around, I was wondering who the dude was that looked like Spuds McKenzie with the pirate goatee...
spndnchz Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 Boyes on fan590 right now http://player.rogersradio.ca/cjcl/on_air
korab rules Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Boyes on fan590 right now http://player.rogersradio.ca/cjcl/on_air so what did he say?
spndnchz Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 so what did he say? Not much, mostly talk about how he lives in Toronto and how it's nice to be able to come home once in a while.
nobody Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Not much, mostly talk about how he lives in Toronto and how it's nice to be able to come home once in a while. So what do the Leafs want to give up for him? Maybe we can get Ek to claim it is a rumor.
Andrew Amerk Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 So what do the Leafs want to give up for him? Maybe we can get Ek to claim it is a rumor. Brad Boyes and Paul Gaustad for Tim Connolly and Clarke MacArthur?
spndnchz Posted August 26, 2011 Author Report Posted August 26, 2011 Looks like Logan Couture getting extension somewhere around 2 yrs 6 mill.
X. Benedict Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 Looks like Logan Couture getting extension somewhere around 2 yrs 6 mill. He's worth it.
