Randall Flagg Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I'm confused, should we post about individual games here or the playoff thread?
carpandean Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I'm confused, should we post about individual games here or the playoff thread? I would definitely suggest that playoff game discussion be kept to the playoff thread.
apuszczalowski Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I'm confused, should we post about individual games here or the playoff thread? Someone around here will get their panties in a bunch because proper thread etiquette according to them wasn't followed...............
spndnchz Posted April 12, 2012 Author Report Posted April 12, 2012 Robbie Turcotte was a gifted hockey player with a tireless work ethic.
darksabre Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Oh man, I'm dying right now. Wonderful find Chz. :w00t:
dEnnis the Menace Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Those just made my day! HAHA! Thanks Chz!
Campy Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Robbie and I played a similar game: skate like the wind, pass like nobody's business, and a slapper that was so embarassing I never once used it in a game - cheers to you Robbie!
spndnchz Posted April 12, 2012 Author Report Posted April 12, 2012 But then he met Marcie boom boom McClane...
apuszczalowski Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 I guess Calgary is showing they are more serious about winning and will be a good team now, they let Sutter go as HC yesterday................. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=392974

It's time for an all out rebuild there. They have very few NHL level guys who will get much of a return and their system is pretty much bare. That's exactly why they are going to need to move Iginla this offseason. Those fans are in for a completely bottoming out over the next 3-4 years. It's going to get ugly.

He might have been a good coach, but he was an awful GM. His current success with LA supports that stance.
Randall Flagg Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Quick question, sorry for being kinda random, but when did the NHL go to teams wearing dark jerseys at home, and white away, and why? I would prefer, at least in the playoffs, white jerseys at home like it used to be.

Randall Flagg Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 2003, and to sell third sweaters. I'd prefer whites at home all season. Thanks, and besides the pit stains, I like our white jerseys way better.
darksabre Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Toronto seems to get a free pass to wear their whites at home whenever they want. I think we should be doing the same, so that fans get to see both jerseys at least.
TrueBlueGED Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 The Flames should never have made Darryl Sutter Head Coach and GM. He might have been a good coach, but he was an awful GM. His current success with LA supports that stance. I generally think it's a horrible idea to make anybody coach and GM. It's just so much responsibility, so much that has to be done for each job, it's borderline impossible for one man to be great at both. Almost without exception, it doesn't turn out well.
JJFIVEOH Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Never worked out too well for Denis Potvin.
Punch Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 I think that's why Scotty Bowman wasn't so successful in Buffalo.
spndnchz Posted April 24, 2012 Author Report Posted April 24, 2012 Predators General Manager David Poile, Doug Armstrong of the St. Louis Blues and Dale Tallon of the Florida Panthers have been named finalists for the GM of the Year award. Pacioretty, Joffrey Lupul, Alfredsson are the finalists for the Masterton Trophy.

Eleven Posted April 24, 2012 Report Posted April 24, 2012 big changes in HNIC after 2014. http://www.kuklaskor...ight_in_canada/ Blogger oversteps bigtime with this quote: "Broadcasting changes could sever hockey from Canada’s national identity." Uh, I don't think so. I do hope HNiC stays on CBC, though.
