Patty16 Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Passion? I think the Vancouver front office was looking for more Sasquatch like behavior. Aside from a few questionable hits in juniors, Kass has never been a passion player. RIght now he's being relegated to Cody McCormick status playing 8 mins a game and sent out to play patty cake wit hthe other teams big guys.

The results from this trade will be interesting to watch over time. Right now it is a solid win for Buffalo on both pieces. Grags has played 7 games, is a minus 2, with 0 points and only 3 shots, and was healthy scratched last night. Sulzer has played in 9 games, has a goal and two assists, is a plus 2 and has taken 9 shots.

The season started with Grags over Weber, but MAG lost that spot. Sulzer's a UFA in the offseason, while everyone else is under contract. With guys like McNabb in Rochester pushing to come up, who goes?

Who it is will depend on who they obtain.
frissonic Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 @DarrenDreger Unless progress is made this week in sale of Coyotes.NHL will begin Plan B investigation next wk. Seattle, Que City, Vegas and KC in mix. dammit, what about utah? why overlook the blatantly obvious?! i already pointed this out in another post, but salt lake makes the most sense, geographically, demographically, and financially. okay, the financially might be a stretch. but come on! we NEED another sports franchise! NHL would be an awesome addition. KC already had a team. it didn't last. Seattle is a spit with a favorable wind from Vancouver. The closest teams to salt lake? Colorado, SJ and Phoenix, in that order. the closest team to Colorado? Phoenix. Next is either Dallas, St. Louis, or Minnesota.. Closest team to Phoenix? LA or Anaheim. there's a HUGE geographical hole in the western conference. salt lake fits the need PERFECTLY. vegas. psh.
X. Benedict Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 Just a handful of games left in the season and no team has scored 250 goals. And more than half the teams in the league have failed to score 200 yet. And people are talking about bringing back the Red Line rules. No thanks.

If only refs would actually call penalties, goal scoring would be just fine. Heck even if goal scoring was lower, but the refs enforced the rules like right out of the lockout, I'd imagine the total product would be just as entertaining even if less pucks hit the back of the net. For me personally it's all about flow and pace of the game (granted, I imagine this is highly correlated with goal scoring) as 2-1 games can be great to watch....but the clutching, grabbing, interfering that goes uncalled is just killing the flow. The league is going backwards :(

That would help scoring too wihtout don cherry like rants about playing style.

Quinn and his bigger nets don't sound so crazy now, do they? Maybe we should return goalies to the 75 lb horsehair filled leather pads of days gone by. Not sure Miller could get back up with those on.

It seems to me that 1 extra goal a game would be a realistic target. It would average out to about 40 more goals a year per team. The league is back to 2004 in terms of scoring rates.

There was an article in The Hockey News about how they calculate goals per game and the size of goalie equipment. They did reduce the size of the pads for this year. I'll look for the article but it WAS a pretty intense breakdown of how they came up with the size.

Maybe goalies wouldn't have such "great glove hands" if the glove wasn't the size of a laundry basket.

Not responsive to this tweet, but twitter is great because it reveals what idiots these so called celebrities really are. It baffles me why the masses look up to these people like they know anything. Entertaining? yes. Enlightening? not so much.

JJFIVEOH Posted March 22, 2012 Report Posted March 22, 2012 The NHL blacked out the Panthers game locally here to have exclusive rights to televise the Wings-Rangers game last night. That's not right........ I hope this doesn't become a common occurrence around the league. It's bad enough AT&T dumped the NHL Network so I can't watch the Caps game tonight because since it is nationally televised it won't be on NHL GameCenter either. Edit: I stand corrected, the Caps game is on NHL GameCenter.

That must have been a last minute switch. The box score even still says the Caps game is on NHL Network. Not sure how the NHL can just go through locally and black out Panthers games so people will watch another game.
