TrueBlueGED Posted March 16, 2012 Report Posted March 16, 2012 Dreade game tonight. Have to cheer for Winnipeg to win in reg. then they jump us. Feels like another 3 pt game Apparently Ovechkin is playing too, and he's actually been showing a pulse lately. I really detest relying on other teams.
Eleven Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 16 mins from 3 pt game wash/win Thankfully didn't happen!
shrader Posted March 17, 2012 Report Posted March 17, 2012 If there is a hockey god, the bruins will pull a Red Sox and lose their 7 point lead over ten games. This city deserves it.

deluca67 Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Wow. I hadn't even thought of that. The city would burn! Wait a minute, fans are allowed to get angry when their teams miss the playoffs?
SwampD Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Watching the end of that Philly/Pitt game, I am now a proponent of 4 on 4 for the first OT, then 3 on 3 for a second OT.
deluca67 Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 The first to 100 points. what a great job Ken Hitchcock has done. I think it is safe to say that anyone that votes for another coach for the Jack Adams needs to have their vote revoked.

I think it is safe to say that anyone that votes for another coach for the Jack Adams needs to have their vote revoked. Maybe. I think Bylsma has to be in the disucssion, considering the injury issues that team has dealt with and that they have a real good chance of winning the conference. And on a personal note, I absolutely detest the style of hockey the Blues play...slow, trapping, boring garbage (as far as entertainment value goes). Obviously that shouldn't matter when voting for the Jack Adams, but yea, it's putrid hockey for my own personal entertainment. I also think Paul MacLean deserves consideration if the Senators end up winning the division, because I don't think anybody saw that coming.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 I would vote for Lindy. If his team was healthy, they'd have 103 points.

Put Malkin, Spezza or Karlsson on the Blues and they might have 120 points.
JJFIVEOH Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Dineen doesn't deserve to be in the running?
TrueBlueGED Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Put Malkin, Spezza or Karlsson on the Blues and they might have 120 points. They may lack elite level offensive talent, but they're not Hasek-era Sabres barren either. Pietrangelo is criminally underrated, while Backes, Oshie and Stewart aren't exactly offensively inept. Yet they have 9 more goals on the season than the Sabres and both of their goaltenders are under 1.80 GAA with a save % around .940. They may very well be playing a system that maximizes their talent, which is fine and good coaching. That doesn't make them any more entertaining to watch. Again, for me personally, I find their brand of hockey absolutely atrocious. Dineen doesn't deserve to be in the running? He's done a heck of a job, but I have a hard time voting for somebody whose team has a -17 goal differential. If the Southeast wasn't completely abysmal this year, they'd probably have a worse record than the Sabres.
deluca67 Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Dineen doesn't deserve to be in the running? Leading a weak division or the entire NHL? Which is more impressive?
JJFIVEOH Posted March 18, 2012 Report Posted March 18, 2012 Leading a weak division or the entire NHL? Which is more impressive? The fact that they're going to win the division when 13 guys in their starting lineup weren't even with the team last year with a payroll at the bottom 1/3 of the league? Although I agree with TrueBlue the goal differential could be a factor. I don't think being a top team in the league is necessarily a vote for the JA award when you have a stacked roster.

apuszczalowski Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Saw this on Yahoo and thought the one comment below made a great title for it. I think there are many that thought they would never see something like this in their lifetime (So much hate between Sens and Leafs, lol) "2 Girls, 0 Cups" http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/she-sens-fan-her-girlfriend-leafs-fan-marriage-060257777.html

Our sport has had to suffer through decades of being labeled a vulgar pastime for bloodthirsty troglodytes, and yet hockey's leading the way on progressive thinking when it comes to lifestyle acceptance." Now I have lost any respect that I had for Puck Daddy. Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil.

shrader Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Ignoring the WBC hate rant for a second, why exactly do they get to go out on the ice for that?
apuszczalowski Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 Ignoring the WBC hate rant for a second, why exactly do they get to go out on the ice for that? Probably paid a good chunk of change (or know someone at the arena) to be able to do that. Great publicity for the team, showing they support Gay rights too
korab rules Posted March 19, 2012 Report Posted March 19, 2012 I really don't want to see this unless it happens on stage with poles in the background and a VIP booth for later where you get to kiss the brides.
