apuszczalowski Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Kassian with a penalty shot against the stars in opening minute of game. FAIL ! I think this means the trade has been won by the Sabres.........

TrueBlueGED Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Tinman just fought Marchand!!!! Very impressed. No punches but he stood up and slammed him to the ice! If he had broken Marchand's nose I'd forgive him for stealing the Sabres' money and the damage he did to my eyes watching him play the last few years.
korab rules Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 I think this means the trade has been won by the Sabres......... And no hits and no shots on goal. Returning to the mean?
K-9 Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 Just watched the Mario Lemieux statue dedication in the Burgh. Any chance Pegs commissions one to honor Bert? I wouldn't mind seeing that. GO SABRES!!!

GO SABRES!!! Am I losing my mind or do I remember seeing something up on pedestals in the lobby of the arena?
Punch Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Lightning G Mathieu Garon out for 3-4 weeks--- looks like their playoff chances are in the hands of Dwayne Roloson: http://www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=7198 I wonder if it's too late for Tampa to put in a claim on Turco?
Randall Flagg Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Lightning G Mathieu Garon out for 3-4 weeks--- looks like their playoff chances are in the hands of Dwayne Roloson: http://www.nhl.com/i...ost.htm?id=7198 I wonder if it's too late for Tampa to put in a claim on Turco? Yup, too late. Turco is on Boston as of this afternoon
Punch Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Wow... Tyler Bozak had a wide open net and should have tied it with 4 minutes to go, but the shot was blocked at the last second by... Tim Connolly. Forever a Sabre.
Marvelo Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 Lupul out 3-4 weeks, further hurting the Leaf Blowers. Maybe a Buffalo vacation is in his future? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=389692

Yup, too late. Turco is on Boston as of this afternoon Any team besides Boston that would have picked him up could not play him anyway. I don't believe Turco can play in the playoffs for Boston either, just the regular season.
apuszczalowski Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 And no hits and no shots on goal. Returning to the mean? Who are we talking about here, Kassian or Hodgson? Any team besides Boston that would have picked him up could not play him anyway. I don't believe Turco can play in the playoffs for Boston either, just the regular season. You are correct, I remember hearing them say he is ineligible for the playoffs, he's gone once Rask is back
Iron Crotch Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 St. Louis won again tonight and now (quietly) leads the NHL with 93 points. Hitchcock has done wonders with that club.
deluca67 Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Kovalchuk's hat trick has the sniper at 398 goals for his career.
Marvelo Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 OK guys, there's a movement to can Cherry & MacLean on HNIC. It might work...Cherry's 78 years old... http://www.torontosu...ff-hockey-night Lots of hate for Briere in Philly these days...only 6 pts in 20 games. Here he tries to pump Bryzgalov's tires but he misfires. Briere's going through a divorce, complete with reports of cheating and pornstars and the Philly fans are on him like white on rice: http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/08/briere-says-he-was-only-trying-to-pump-bryzgalovs-tires/ Also, Kassian with 6:52 of ice time last night vs. Winnipeg.

To be honest most reports I read sounds like Pronger is the only thing keeping that dressing room together. Good article though, thnx. As for Kass, wow I've seen Enforcers get more ice time.

Yeah, I saw that. Demoted back to the fourth line and pretty much benched for the entire third period. And as expected, some Canuck fans are ready to cut the guy and pronounce the trade a failure. Ridiculous. GO SABRES!!!
TrueBlueGED Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Yeah, I saw that. Demoted back to the fourth line and pretty much benched for the entire third period. And as expected, some Canuck fans are ready to cut the guy and pronounce the trade a failure. Ridiculous. GO SABRES!!! Didn't see the game, but was he responsible for a goal or something? I saw he was a -1 with such little ice time, and seeing as he was benched in the 3rd, I can definitely see something like that. As I said in the original trade thread, I read that Vigneault has no longer of a leash for young players than Ruff does, so it wouldn't surprise me if an awful giveaway or something led to a benching.

I didn't see the game either. But the low ice time caught my eye so I perused a couple Canuck forums. Some say he was responsible for Wellwood's goal and that's why he was benched. Others are saying he has been invisible the last two games. Still others are citing his 0 hit totals. I think it's funny that many are also saying that the Canucks' coach has as little patience with young players that make mistakes at critical times in their D zone. Sound familiar? Fan expectation is absolutely irrational most of the time. GO SABRES!!!

And as expected, some Canuck fans are ready to cut the guy and pronounce the trade a failure. Ridiculous. GO SABRES!!! Why not? People here are already grumbling about Hodgson "not showing anything" or being invisible. I didn't see the game either. But the low ice time caught my eye so I perused a couple Canuck forums. rickshaw Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 I know Cody H hasn't gotten a point yet but I wouldn't panic. Yes it would help in the losses but they are 4 and 2 and the kid was all over North America. He has essentially been on the road for 10 of his last 11 games and had to fly to Buf from the Weat Coast for his physical. This, after the Canucks went East and worked their way back west. Be patient. He'll be much more of a player for us than Kassian. Kassian has points but he's a minus player and his pts were in a loss. He has no hits in his last two games. He was pushed back to the 4 th line and was benched in a non conf game in the 3rd last night. Give Hodgson support if you are going to the games. He'll be fine. I know we need him now so I understand the frustration.
rickshaw Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 And yet he has still provided more to the score sheet/offence in Vancover then Hodgson has in Buffalo How so? His pts we're in a loss where he was still a minus player! The Sabres are 4-2 with CH while Van is.500 Kassian is effective if he's banging. Zero hits in 2 games is not right. CH was a plus player in the 2 SO wins in Cali he just didn't register a point.
