It's ridiculous that Neil even has to think about doing that after throwing a beautiful clean hit like that.

I like to think that Neil has to fight because he has a career record of being a flaming d-bag and this might be his first clean hit in the NHL. (Or at least one clean hit among dirty ones.) Might be ridiculous, but anytime Neil gets called to drop the gloves against a much bigger, tougher opponent, I'm not too worried about why.

Andrew Peters just gave a surprisingly interesting and insightful interview on GR.

Can you summarize for those of us that can't stream it?

One interesting point was that he said Roy was not a problem at all in the locker room. He said all the players liked him.

It was kind of all over the board; covered a lot of different topics. I wouldn't treat anything he said as gospel, I just was surprised that the guy was that interesting. He did mention that Ruff didn't have a "revenge line" to send over the boards against Boston like he did against Ottawa five years ago (he joked that no one would have cared had he, Mair, and Kaleta been suspended). In fact, he--this surprised me greatly--defended the team for the way the Lucic incident was handled. Other topics included what goes through a player's head at deadline time and Goose's value on the market (he values him highly).

I think he's still on the air now.

Not a shock at all. Guys that are cancers don't get their sausage grabbed in public.

Can't say I blame him. CBJ have managed to spin their tires for several years now, not getting any better. Some of the moves they made will make the defense better, but their goaltending has been bad, and too many bad players overall.

It's going to happen. For two firsts and two seconds!

Paul Hamilton was remarking today that Nash would not agree to come to Buffalo--- not sure if Howson has successfully squeezed him into expanding his list to include more teams by outing him as the one that asked for the trade, but Howson is Regier's best friend amongst NHL execs and Craig Patrick is on good terms with Ted Black and also reportedly Terry Pegula.

I can't believe the Isles totally imploded at the end of this game--- 2-0 lead with 3:29 left and they lose in OT to the Caps.

I hate the Isles. Nashville's PK could have used Gaustad tonight, it was pathetic.

Go Leafs!! Oh wait.

hopefully, we can put the locker room cancer thing to rest now. there was an interview years ago where someone was asked who was the biggest jokester in the locker room and the player said roy, that he is always making people laugh. can't remember who it was (gerbe? ennis?) so thats fine if you dont believe me, but it happened.

Roy's work ethic last year (including his rehab following his injury) has actually impressed me. I'm shocked to say that I'm open to keeping him--- and maybe trading him at the deadline next year. He looked good defensively last night and his defensive lapses and laziness are my biggest issues with him. Paul Hamilton quoting an anonymous veteran last year that said "Wait and see how much better we are without (Roy)" after he got hurt gives me pause, still.

Roy has been playing very well for the last month - including in his own end. I take everything Hamilton says with a grain of salt - I think he is a smug prick and that his sources aren't nearly as good as he would like us to believe. Want an example? He was reported as saying the Sabres only move was Goose at the deadline, 10 minutes later the trades of Kassian and MAG was announced. Really had his finger on the pulse of the team there, didn't he?

I'd love to catch razor drunk somewhere and ask him what the players think of Hamilton.

So you want to hang out with Ray.

I do agree with this--- he's difficult to take seriously when he starts criticising a player or coach in that whiny, condescending tone. My only concern was if his comment fell under the category of where there's smoke there's fire. Andrew Peters comments were very interesting--- I'd love to hear him on WGR more often.
