deluca67 Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 The Sens seem to have righted their ship. They are solidly in 7th place and are in the mix for that #4 spot. Washington, Winnipeg and Florida are in a three way battle for the SE Division. The team that wins will likely be the only SE representative in the 2012 playoffs. The Canes have lost in regulation time only twice in their last 13 games, both times to the Islanders. This is the same team that swept the season series from the Bruins. Go figure. If any of the bottom teams make a run at that 8th spot, I would expect it would likely be the Lightning. They have the NHL's premiere goal scorer and guys like St. Louis and Lecavalier who have been there before. If they could just get average goal-tending most nights they would be a shoe in.
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 A blast from the Sabres past waived by Red Wings ... http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=618021 Maybe the Lightning take a flyer on him (see DeLuca's post above). Also, Pred's extentions of GM and AGM ... God willing he will be the longest tenured GM soon. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=617991

Agree on everything but Tampa. I can't imagine a team that has already started selling, thus making themselves worse, will make a run. I wouldn't be shocked if Washington snuck in at #8, but that says way more about my opinion of the Leafs than the Caps.

Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Datsyuk out two weeks after having arthroscopic knee surgery this morning. Maybe they would take Roy off our hands as a temporary replacement ... .
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 22, 2012 Report Posted February 22, 2012 I mentioned this in the trade deadline thread, but wanted to put it here as this thread is pinned. A link to Theo Fleury's very powerful victim impact statement ... http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/02/22/theo-fleurys-victim-impact-statement-describes-graham-james-abuse/

Jsixspd Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 Looked like a kicking motion with his nose. Yep, and then he tried to cover it up by acting hurt - :D Perreault should get an Oscar nomination. ;)
