Try tune-in radio. I have it for my droid and that is how I listen to WGR in Phoenix.
korab rules Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Their app is the biggest POS in the app store, especially when you need it most.
wonderbread Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 try logging in to it from the net in the background. works for me on the Iphone.
frissonic Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Try tune-in radio. I have it for my droid and that is how I listen to WGR in Phoenix. is that the name of the app? i'll look it up when i get a chance. right now, i'm elbows deep in pooh trying to get doc package done for delivery.
frissonic Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 try logging in to it from the net in the background. works for me on the Iphone. gonna need some explanation on this ... you mean opening the website in safari and trying to open the live stream through there?
26CornerBlitz Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 The WGR Droid app works well for me on my HTC EVO 4G.

bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 iPhone app works for me only issues is starting on Wifi to 3G doesnt seem to handle transfer but 3G back to Wifi does. It cuts off during a call and fails to come back when call is over. One issue is unless you stop the stream when it comes back stream is old stream not recent

You not only get WGR but radio stations from all over the world. Including Antarctica which has a folk station. Go figure. :)
PromoTheRobot Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 I deleted the WGR app because it didn't work right. I have TuneIn Radio and love it. PTR
frissonic Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 thanks for the help, everyone. i'm in the process of downloading the tunein app. folk music from antarctica is too good to pass up. :) i mean, it *has* to be better than the new limp bizkit, right?
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 just loaded tune in radio nice way to get everything in one place no need for gr or 97 rock app
SDS Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 The wgr app is the worst pos ever written. You would think Bill Gates wrote it himself. I too will try tune-in. Thanks for the heads up!
SDS Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Ok, it works. Finding a station was not obvious, but I got it now.
DrDahlinstein Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Been using TuneIn Radio for a while now, and it is awesome. Get all of my Atlanta stations, Buffalo stations, Police scanners, and anything/everything else. Definitely better than a bunch of individual station apps.

PromoTheRobot Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Pro version? The "pro" version has some extra bells and whistles like being able to use it like a clock radio (tell it to wake you up with a stream of a certain station), or you can pause or record streams for later. The free version gets 40,000+ broadcast and online-only stations...including the one I manage, WCNH. PTR
Claude_Verret Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Thanks for the heads up on tune in. I've been so frustrated this week with the POS WGR app.
5THXIT Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Just added tunein and it works great out here in Carlsbad, CA. Thanks for the help. Looking forward to tomorrow GO SABRES!!
DrDahlinstein Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Pro version? Yeah, think it was a gift card purchase. From looking at the app store they dont look that different. Great app either way. It has never crashed or froze. Using it right now and flipping between Buffalo Sports, Atlanta Rap, and California Rock. Love that it shows what song is playing (and is actually accurate). Makes it easy to listen to what you want without having to flip through a bunch of stations. Edit: As PTR pointed out, the recording/saving feature and clock radio features, are pretty cool. Havent used them as much as I should. Free or $.99, its a cool app.
DrDahlinstein Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 including the one I manage, WCNH. PTR Added to my presets!
Captain Caveman Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 try logging in to it from the net in the background. works for me on the Iphone. Yeah this always works better for me.
frissonic Posted July 1, 2011 Author Report Posted July 1, 2011 once again, thanks for the tune-in suggestion. i nabbed the pro version, and i'm LOVING it. with two bars on att's illustrious network (</sarcasm>), it's died once, and it didn't take jumping backwards upside down through flaming hoops to get the app to restart. happy. very, happy. thank you!
BuffalOhio Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Wow, Tune-In works great! So much better than the WGR app. Deleting the app as I type!
