Sterling Archer Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 I have heard Richards wants 12 Million a year...No thanks... Did you have $5mm stuck in your ear at the time?
FogBat Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Happy for Mancari but cripes the canucks have regressed quickly this offseason. Radio guys out this way are asking Mark who? Not sure how easy it'll be for them to reach the finals again. Let alone get the President's Trophy. But since the Sedins are still with them...
FogBat Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Looks like Dan Carcillo to the Blackhawks. update: One year 775k. Made 1,075,000 in Philly last year. I guess we won't be seeing as many GEICO Cavemen commercials around Buffalo next season...
Swedesessed Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Fellow Sabres fans if you want to talk NHL Free Agency I have a show on the air on Blog Talk Radio, and would be more then happy to hear your thoughts/opinions: http://tobtr.com/s/1936109 It can get crazy at times and is casual and taking shape, feel free to call or listen!
Taro T Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Looks like Handzus went to SJ for 2 yrs $2.5MM/. They would seem to have a plethora of centers. Things that make you go hmmmm.
Marvelo Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 http://www.csnphilly.com/06/29/11/Flyers-indecisive-on-Stamkos-offer/news_flyers.html?blockID=538247&feedID=695 What’s perplexing here is why it’s taking Yzerman so long to do what should be an easy deal to lock up Stamkos long-term as the club’s franchise player. Yzerman told the Tampa Tribune on Wednesday night that the two sides talked and would speak again on Friday but he did not elaborate beyond that. One source, who spoke to Yzerman a while ago, said it might be because management is not convinced that Stamkos is worth the kind of dollars he’s seeking, even if he is a 50-goal scorer. ...just sayin'
26CornerBlitz Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 From Darren Dreger on Twitter "Deal not signed, but Richards chooses Rangers." https://twitter.com/#!/DarrenDreger
Braedon Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 From Darren Dreger on Twitter "Deal not signed, but Richards chooses Rangers." https://twitter.com/...#!/DarrenDreger Surprise, surprise.
TheMadCap Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Also of note, don't know if it was mentioned elsewhere, but a few blurbs down from the part about Richardw was this: DarrenDreger Darren Dreger Rob Niedermayer leaving NHL. Signs with Lugano, Switzerland.7 minutes ago
26CornerBlitz Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 9 years at $6.5 AaV for Richards and Rangers. He obviously really wanted to be reunited with Torts since he tok less money. Good thing the Sabres went after Leino instead.
Wayne VanDorp Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Burnside just tweeted no deal yet for BR. Methinks he might be reconsidering leaving the aaprox extra $ 7mm from Cgy on the table.
Braedon Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Burnside just tweeted no deal yet for BR. Methinks he might be reconsidering leaving the aaprox extra $ 7mm from Cgy on the table. Nah, a T was uncrossed or an I not dotted. Formality
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 So what's the deal with Doughty and stammer? Anyone make a run at them yet or are their teams sitting back going ho-hum. I really don't think stammer wants to stay in Tampa.
Eleven Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 So, the other free agent that we should be paying attention to--the former Sabre--where's he going to land?
SabresFan526 Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Wow, what a shocker. Richards going to the Rangers. This was soooooooooo unexpected. One thing of note. Richards has thrived when he was one of the guys. He has never thrived when he was the guy. That's why I'm not sure the Rangers are a better team. He and Gaborik form a dynamite top line. Then you've got Dubinsky, Callahan, Anisimov, and Boyle. All are nice players, but still, they aren't more than a bottom 6-8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Richards does not put them over the hump. He's going to a very similar situation as he had in Dallas, only difference is that the ownership is stable.

I don't see the Rangers being anymore than a 6 seed this year though. They don't have the horses for more than that. Having said that, they'd be a dangerous 6 seed with Lundqvist, Gaborik, and Richards.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Rob Niedermayer to Switzerland. He must be underwater on a few mortgages or something. Call it a day poppi.
Eleven Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 He must be underwater on a few mortgages or something. Call it a day poppi. Or he just likes to play hockey...
Braedon Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Or he just likes to play hockey... Or likes chocolate. Or cheese. Or neutrality.
Ghost of Dwight Drane Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Or he just likes to play hockey... Sure fooled me from October 1st - April 10th
26CornerBlitz Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Or likes chocolate. Or cheese. Or neutrality. Or off-shore tax evading hidden accounts.
thesportsbuff Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Paperwork being worked on between the Leafs and Tim Connolly. 2 year agreement @ $4.75 aav. - Dregger Done deal. Toronto is gonna love Connolly. Can't wait to get burned by him and Kessel every time we play.
FogBat Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 Sabres put in offer sheet for Brandon Dubinsky http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=370571 .
