cmjoyce113 Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I have been informed that Spector is good to check out, I follow Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger on twitter. I am new to this following hockey off season thing. I have been a Sabres fan since I was little but my true sport was always football. As stated in another thread, due to Pegulamania and lack of football news I have gone all in on the Sabres and hockey. I feel like this needs its own topic because I notice there are quite a few new members with a low post count like myself and I want to better understand what is reliable and where everyone goes for their hockey news. Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for all the help! for the most part, i go here for my nhl news. yeah, it's mostly sabres stuff (and some quality OT stuff as well), but there are enough genU-INE hockey fans around here that things from around the league (and regarding the game generally) get posted and discussed, if they're important. beyond that, following spector and the TSN guys should do you more than fine. if the TSN guys don't generate something, they are good about re-tweeting the stuff that everyone wants to see.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/ +1000 yeah does seem like alot more folks interested in FA this year but I think its mostly TPegs versus lack of football.

thesportsbuff Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 As far as websites go, TSN.ca is of course going to be your major source. Or WGR550.com will be your best bet for Sabres related news. As far as the twitterverse goes... Buffalo tweeters: @BillHoppeSabres - Sabres writer on MSG @BNHarrington - Sabres writer for The Buffalo News @WGR550 - WGR @pham22758 - Paul Hamilton @JoeBuffaloWins - donno who this guy is but he writes about the Sabres and knew the details on Regehr deal long before anyone else reported it... For General NHL news, this list should get you started: @CraigJButton @Proteautype @MarkFischel @JulieRobenhymer @RobRossi_Trib @usahockey @kevin_mcgran @Real_ESPNLeBrun @Buccigross @DownGoesBrown @drosennhl @darenmillard @SportsnetSpec @MattBarnabyESPN @TheFourthPeriod @adater @ChrisBottaNHL @DarrenDreger @kuklaskorner @JeffMarek @ESPN_Burnside @RealKyper @eduhatschek @mirtle @EJHradek_NHL @wyshynski (my personal favorite -- not usually one to "break" news stories, but fantastic work as a writer) @TSNBobMcKenzie @tsnjamesduthie
cmjoyce113 Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Thanks for all the help guys! This is getting me even more excited about Friday. Knowing where to look for info other than this site helps a ton.
Taro T Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Here. It's never biased. Well, actually it is biased, but if you've been around more than 30 days (aka 1k KTN posts ;)) you can figure out pretty well what angle everyone here is coming from.

Thanks for all the help! You may find that the lack of football is a blessing. Once you've found hockey, you never go back. I was a big Cleveland Browns fan from 1955-1964. Then I found hockey and Bobby Orr two years later. Haven't followed anything else since and I've never regretted it.
MattPie Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I go to lets go canes it always has great hockey discussions  I hear the 'which driver can drive the zamboni around the rink the fastest: Dale Jr or Kyle Bush?' discussion was EPIC!
spndnchz Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 hockeybuzz.com  So u basically pull it out of your ass?
ROC Sabres Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 So u basically pull it out of your ass? Comparing what comes out of my ass to hockeybuzz is an insult to the sh!ts I take.

I'm not gonna say that I won't follow anything else, but I've gotten hooked to hockey the over the last three years I've watched intently.

wonderbread Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 nfreeman always made it very clear which angle he thought old man PA was coming from well i have heard that the angle of the dangle was in direct proportion to the heat of the meat. however i feel in this situ it may not be the case.
