dEnnis the Menace Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I love this board. We really do have experts on every subject. C'mon. I used to work for a production company...I had to throw that one out there.
MattPie Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I have dish. I watched games last season by going to my sister's boyfriends house. I'd watch the games with him and his dad. not awful...but I would much rather watch at my own house. Plus living out in Dryden, NY (just outside of Ithaca), there aren't many places to go out to watch with friends (it's a hassle to get some of the local bars to change the channel, and in Applebees, they always change the channel on me after th4ey change it for me :censored: ) I would have thought Benchwarmers would have the game on by default. You could make the hike down to Vestal and go to Tully's, but that's probably more driving than you'd really want to do.

I've never tried to go to Benchwarmers, and yeah, Vestal is quite the hike for a game.
Bullwinkle Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Same here. Terry was around for the old WNSA I think. Imagine if TP put the same winning mentality into a regional sports channel/radio station? (Instead of the endless woe-is-us crap we get now?) Of course that would leave Jerry Sullivan out. PTR No loss there. Basketball guy covering hockey.
Assquatch Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 C'mon. I used to work for a production company...I had to throw that one out there. Just yankin yer chain. I would have thrown a smiley in to be clear but mine are broken. :wallbash:
dEnnis the Menace Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Just yankin yer chain. I would have thrown a smiley in to be clear but mine are broken. :wallbash: I kind of figured lol. I currently work for a company that manufactures electromagnetic clutches and brakes...and with the day I've had here, just be glad I'm not throwing some joke out there about brakes...
deluca67 Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 What's the point of teabagging on one side only? Ask Lance Armstrong.
Assquatch Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Ask Lance Armstrong. Lance Armstrong and Phil Kessel walked into a bar to play a game of 'Uno'...
inkman Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 When did they start doing a "Best of" show? That's like a Simpsons clip show. And the guy that's doing it, went to high school with him, not exactly a sports guy. Seems a bit manufactured and lazy. I think it's a great idea. Not many people can listen from 6-10am then 3-7pm. This gives listeners a chance to "catch up".
Buffalo Sports Man Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 What precisely is the issue with WGR? Is it that y'all don't like the opinions of the guys, that you don't like the non-sports conversations that come up or what? I'm curious, because I enjoy listening to WGR generally speaking, except for Colin Cowherd (I like him on SportsNation but would almost rather drive off a cliff than have to hear him talk on his show). As for the Best of Show, they've been doing it since Dennis Williams stopped having his own show. Maybe for three years?

The issue is that people in every single market in the country complain about their sports radio stations. These are the kind of things that drive that industry and it is never going to change. Ultimately, people want to hear stupid comments from people they think are idiots. It makes them feel better about themselves.

Eleven Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Love it or hate it, WGR is going to be very helpful in six minutes. They may have dispatched Paul Hamsammich to Salvatore's.

Jeremy White is decent I personally don't care for Howard Simon. So what if Schopp is an ass and Bulldog is a local Mike Golic. It beats the drivel on weck. If tried it and couldn't take it.
