Sterling Archer Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 http://www.rotoworld...e=136995&spln=1 Cody McCormick can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, but the Buffalo Sabres want him back in the fold next season.Buffalo GM Darcy Regier said he will talk to McCormick's agent and they'll continue to have dialogue throughout the week to try to get something done. McCormick skated in a career-high 81 games in 2010-11, while posting 20 points and 142 penalty minutes. McCormick has become a serious contributor to this team and is not just a one-dimensional tough guy. He's definitely a keeper. Plus, I love watching him do stuff like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCRBMVjc7Fw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYjkDmYNpFA
wonderbread Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I'd be shocked if he doesn't come back. I'd like to see him back. I enjoyed the energy he brought.
carpandean Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I definitely want him on my fourth line. If he signs for two years, I may be buying his jersey.

SDS Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I definitely want him on my fourth line. If he signs for two years, I may be buying his jersey. I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want that guy for the price he demands.
... Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want that guy for the price he demands. McCormick is absolutely worth keeping, but you know his agent is thinking this is (finally) Cody's payday. Hopefully he's not letting his agent price him too high.
drnkirishone Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 noone is gonna throw him a big contract. He doesn't have the skill set to call for it. He is a great 4th liner and I hope his agent realizes he has a great oportunity to play out a 1-2 year deal on this team. Lindy likes rolling 4 lines when he has the roster to do it and he doesn't think twice to play grinders and 4th liners extra minutes when they making a difference. I don't think there is a better team for Cody to play on atm.

LastPommerFan Posted June 29, 2011 Report Posted June 29, 2011 Didn't Kaleta have a broken hand already? Or they're secret lovers.
Sterling Archer Posted June 29, 2011 Author Report Posted June 29, 2011 Or they're secret lovers. Or it's just as we thought and Kaleta can't fight for himself.

... Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 No word on Cody, yet, huh? I am a little surprised.
Taro T Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 No word on Cody, yet, huh? I am a little surprised. Most teams lock up their 4th liners after they know how much is left in the kitty after signing the big boys. I expect the Sabres to be in that situation and also expect them to get him inked sometime around the 14th.
biodork Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 This article from GR is about Richards, but this was at the end: *Morris also represents UFA Cody McCormick and said the last contact he had with Darcy Regier was 10 days ago, and that the ball is in Darcy's court. I really hope they re-sign him; I questioned the move last summer to take him over Ellis, but I really like Cody. He's a huge upgrade over Peters, since he can fight AND take a regular shift on the 4th line instead of being the healthy scratch on nights we aren't playing a physical opponent.
spndnchz Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Richards said he liked having someone to stick up for him. With Cody having the same agent, maybe there's some package deal?

Doohicksie Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYjkDmYNpFA Those Columbus third jerseys are my favorite third jerseys. They look like some kinda steam punk Civil War era throw-backs.
thesportsbuff Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Cody Mccormick signs 3 yrs in Buff x 1.2 a year - rogers sportsnet
Taro T Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Cody Mccormick signs 3 yrs in Buff x 1.2 a year - rogers sportsnet Really? Not surprised that he's back, just surprised that he's back before the 1-3 lines are set. Maybe it's a favor to Pat Morris.

X. Benedict Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 3.6 Million ....is high .....but Cody comes to play. I'm happy.
korab rules Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 Hamilton on GR saying rumor is Cody gets 3x1.2=3.6 Edit: Minute late and a dollar short.
