Sargent Hulka Posted March 17, 2006 Report Posted March 17, 2006 If you calculate the total number of wins and then subtract the total number of losses for each division, the difference is the total games won, or lost outside the division( it's outside the division because for each inter-divisional game there's one win for one loss( cancelling each other out, also factoring in OT's as losses). As of today, Atlantic Div. is -17, Northeast is 23, Southwest is -10. In the west, Central is -23, Northwest is 15, and Pacific is 16. This suggests that Detriot and Carolina aren't the powers their records would indicate. Further, it suggests that Ottawa, Buffalo, Calgary, and Dallas are the real top four. Peace!
