X. Benedict Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 This is a good deal for the Wild. For $2.5 mil more (total value of contracts) they have potentially added a more prolific goal scorer. That is if Heatley can return to form. He may not be the 50 goal scorer he once was But I think the Wild would be happy with 30-35 goals. It is an interesting move. But I think I like San Jose in this deal. It is hard to imagine a better offensive situation than what Heatley has had for much of his career. Spezza and Alfredson as linemates in Ottawa... Marleau and Thornton in San Jose... I'm imagining his new linemates are Setoguchi, and Mikko Koivu in Minny.....I think Heatley's production may even slip. Havlat, again if he stays healthy, could easily outscore Heatley.....given a Center like Joe Thornton. I think Havlat is a 75 point man in San Jose. I think Heatley is good for 65 in Minny. San Jose savings 2.5 million. Martin Havlat Right Wing Born Apr 19 1981 -- Mlada Boleslav, Czech Rep. Familiarity breeds contempt (Connolly anyone?) and 2. Maybe Heatly brings a differnt type of game than Havlat and Min thinks they need to change the type of game their #1 RW brings. Like you, I think Havlat's stats improve in SJ and Heatley's drop in Min.
