LastPommerFan Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Capgeek lists Kotalik as having an NTC. Could that be a problem?
Braedon Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Capgeek lists Kotalik as having an NTC. Could that be a problem? The haggling over leaving the rangers last year was because Kotalik would not waive his NTC. That was on his current deal. Hmmm.......that sure makes things more interesting.
spndnchz Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Capgeek lists Kotalik as having an NTC. Could that be a problem? Calgary could buy him out themselves. Save 6 million cap instead of 7 million. I'm sure they'd rather save the 7. Whoever does it, it would be two years 1 million per year cap hit. Seems to make more sense to bury him in the AHL. No cap hit at all.
carpandean Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 If Kotalik doesn't waive his NTC, they could swap in Hagman, another underperforming winger making exactly the same salary as Al. He was one of three players mentioned, along with Al and Stajan, as possible salary dumps. If they had to take Stajan instead, I suspect that the second-round pick would not be included, since he's signed for longer.
CallawaySabres Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 "When/if" this becomes finalized, it will certainly be a 180 from the attitude of Regehr yesterday. As TSN said, Terry Pegula has been "VERY INFLUENTIAL" in this decision. I still can't believe we (Buffalo) have a dream owner like this.....
JohnRobertEichel Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Kotalik's contract has 1 year left at 3 million. Overpriced? Yes. But not a financial albatross.
Robviously Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 I'd like to know what's going on with the "2nd round pick" we keep hearing about. At one point, we were getting Calgary's as part of this deal. Then, later, they were getting our 2nd round pick (in 2012). Kevin Devine also said we were looking to trade into the 2nd round today so either another trade is in the works, or it's that first scenario (which seems far-fetched unless you think Calgary did it because they were REALLY desperate to unload some salary).
Buffalo Fan Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 sniff, sniff...sniff Something is starting to smell bad about this...
drnkirishone Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 maybe we swapping 2nd rounders in the trade too
