I hear you. Except Devine raised expectations stating, "watch and see." Intimating something big and then it comes out and is pulled away like a Lucy field goal hold for Charlie Brown... Ouch it just hurts. Night.

I guess I'm with you on this one. I want to see improvement for this franchise now. I realize trades can happen anytime and we have all year etc, but tomorrow never comes for Darcy based on his last several years as G.M. This just feels like more of the same from him. If he pulls off a trade that improves this club I'll be the first to admit I should have been more patient.

A NMC is a major issue that needed to be addressed much earlier. It puts the franchise in an awkward position. You seriously don't think potential free-agents are going to factor in that a player like Regehr wasn't against leaving Calgary he just didn't want to come to Buffalo in case a better team comes along? This flubbed trade had the potential of moving this franchise forward in a big way. It's Regier's job to get it done. He simply didn't.

This is a question for the Capgeeks of the board. Is there anything the Sabres can do as far as an extension to financially entice Regehr? Can they re-do the final years of his contract and add a couple?

It was a move that could have moved us forward in a big way. Regher had the final say. I don't see how darcy failed in this at all.

he went for a trade that you openly admit, would be very beneficial, and the player in question is currently sitting on the offer.

still waiting for you to show me where darcy messed up on this... unless of course he lacks a form of mind control that all other GM's possess that i was previously unaware of.

It was and still is Reghers decision to make. Darcy did everything he could on this front. And it's much better than doing nothing at all.

After July 1 heading into the final year of the deal (January 1 for a 1 year deal), an extension can be worked out. Until then, no negotiations. So, if deal runs 2 more years, they could work an extension on/after July 1, 2012.

Before you gloat about Regier screwing up again, could we at least hear definitively that the deal is dead?

for what?? what's the official return?

The larger question is, if this is real - when will be the next time DeLuca shows his sour puss around here?

Regehr agrees to waive no move clause. Suck it, haters.

Only that I still consider DR a lightweight, but good for him props and great for the Sabres.

If the rumored price is true, people will be rioting in Calgary. I heard Paul Byron and Chris Butler... AND Buffalo gets Flames 2nd rounder tomorrow.

Oh, don't worry. It will be sooner rather than later. At least we know you can count on it.

Ho hum, yawn! Every year I get all excited about these things and every year Is a let down. My bad for not learning from past mistakes. I figured this year would be different mainly because of all the big talk coming out of Pegulaville and the hockey heaven rhetoric but alas, its more of the same old same old out of Darcy and the boys. Oh well. There's always tomorrow. Lets hope Darcy can improve this club Saturday. :w00t:

ditto. You relayed the same response as I did on another thread.

If we do get their second and get rid of Butler and the small Byron I would agree with them!!!

If Regehr is afraid that Buffalo = Hell, then why would he want an extension?
