Announced today that 35 prospects and this years picks will be invited. July 6-10. Dwyer arena.

I always enjoy going to these. I'll have to hit it earlier so I can see the workout part. I've only gone for scrimmages so far.

Arrgh! Going out of town for work the 7th & 8th. Perhaps a weekend visit is in order. See you there chz...(as in you'll see me and not say anything...again)

They're always better when they don't talk.

Over on the Sabres web site home page they have a short interview with Marcus Foligno. You hear the guy talk about a blue collar game & 'love the hit' and how can anyone not want this guy on the team. He and Kassian are definitely on my don't trade until we see what we got list.

Sabres held dev camp today, Armia was the only one absent.

Anyone else worried that he'll end up being a no show player who decides to stay in his home country? That was my first worry when we picked him up. Or are we convinced he will play in the NHL at some point.

Bill Hoppe had speculated that it may be due to paperwork, which is sensible if true:

I THINK Joel Armia's absence is probably paperwork related. It's not easy to get Europeans over here in about 10 days.

So long as it's not a paperwork snafu due to a faulty fax machine...

last year they changed this at the last minute. They do some "team building" stuff sometimes if it's too hot, so check the website before u go!

Twas scuttlebutt. Geothermal power is were he wants to go. Hence the sudden push for some fracking in NY.

Nah, all the steam gets the paper wet and it jams.

Please take photos if you have the right gear to get good shots... Send 'em along to us!

I thought I heard Regier say at the draft that he would play 1 more year in Finland. Why bother coming now. They probably told him a few things to work on this season and we'll see you next year.

You might recall we just had a long holiday weekend when government offices close, so that might have something to do with it. But feel free to panic.

no panic. Zagrapan fell through, so that's where my concern is mainly stemming from. that and his seemingly limited grasp of the english language. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same reservations about the kid.
