Wharf Rat Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 The tower of power too sweet to be sour funky like a monkey. My son still does a spot on impression of the guy. RIP macho man.
Corp000085 Posted May 20, 2011 Report Posted May 20, 2011 His death is eerily familiar to that of Rico's. Hoping that he died quickly and painlessly and that his wife recovers from her injuries. As for the guy himself, I had a chance to meet him at an autograph session at the height of the nWo days along with his father, Angelo Poffo. Besides being physically huge, he literally was larger than life. Mach, you will be missed brother. OOOOOHHHHHH YYYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHH!
FogBat Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 I was always a fan. This one sounds a lot like Rick Martin. The parallels are really scary. I hope and pray that I'm not out on the road whenever this happens to me.

I was a big fan as a kid and Macho Man was a favorite. I was surprised how much this bummed me out. RIP Randy.
shrader Posted May 23, 2011 Report Posted May 23, 2011 Hmmmm... lots of heart disease there. But there is no steroids in professional wrestling. I'd guess that it has a lot more to do with the pain meds than anything else. All pro sports have been littered with steroid use in the last 20+ years and they don't have the same rate of early deaths. There's more in play there than just the steroids. And let's not throw Andre the Giant in on this group. He was destined for heart failure from the day he was born, with or without wrestling. Edit: And I'm not so sure Savage belongs in that discussion either. A 57 year old dying of a heart attack? Yeah, not so rare.

I'm not sure where I saw it, but the average age of death for an NFL player was 58. I think it was lower for linesmen.
