Sterling Archer Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 and I found it mildly distressing that, after coming back from a two month absence and playing in the elimination game, he would be out and about trolling for cooze so soon. I mean, I'm well aware that the only reason Roy played in game 7 was because of Connolly being out but I really didn't think it was appropriate for him to be out and about when A) had we won game 7 we'd been in the middle of a tough series and B) had Connolly not gotten hurt he may still be on the shelf. We're all aware that there has been a long history of this team having issues with partying all night. Does this bother anyone else or am I nitpicking?
thesportsbuff Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 It's the off-season. Had they won Game 7, they'd be in the middle of a tough series and he wouldn't be out on the bar crawl -- they didn't. I'm actually glad he's out at the bars having fun and mingling with the Buffalo people, rather than flying out of town and tweeting about how much the city sucks...
DR HOLLIDAY Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 You are nitpicking, the season is over let the guy have some fun.......As long as he doesn't go Rothlisberger on anyone......
frisky Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 If I were young and rich, I'd be out there too. He's got nothing to do now so why not?

Umm...with only about five months until the next game? I'd say, just slightly nitpicking...

Also he's coming off what was or certainly could have been his most productive to date without the injury. Give the guy some slack.
Weave Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Serious nitpicking. Holy shat. If he isn't hurting his rehab so what that he goes out on the town on a Friday night? After his season is over.
LGR4GM Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 I heard Roy got wasted and slept with Mike Richards woman... In other news Mike Richards said today at a press conference "If what I did to the sabres in the playoffs by spearing, hacking, and illegally hitting them is mass-murder, than what Roy did to my woman last night was genocide!" ...seasons over so I am sure he wanted to blow off steam. If it was the cup finals then ya we should be pissed but its the off season so have a beer roy and remember you only have 5 months until its go time once again.

What do you want him to do, sit in a 4'x 4' room with black walls and nothing but a table and chair staring at a candle for 3 months? I wouldn't care that he was out even if they had won game 7 and were getting ready to play another series. I have never had an issue with the partying (unlike some of the Puritans on the board), because I just don't think it matters. Guys get up to play in different ways. And as we saw last year, partyers can win Stanley Cups.

mrjsbu96 Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Not to pile on the original post, and I can't say anything as witty as what has already been written, but holy crap: Good to see Roy stay in town Is he supposed to go on semi-seclusion aka the 'danny pratt' incident The guys work their sac off for 9/10 months, I think they are afforded a few pops out on Chippewa Was he at Marcella or SoHo?
... Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 I'm just saying when he gets caught grabbing crotches again and laying on the ground in ugly flip-flops, I don't wanna hear it. Uhm...what shall we do? Go and kidnap him? Lock him in someone's basement until August? <_< Serioulsy, I'd rather he's available to skidaddle the day he's traded away.
