Weave Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Ok...now I'm lauging at YOU! *runs into bedroom and cries*
Weave Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 and by two of them you mean crosby and another one? Well, I was thinking more like if Crosby and Malkin were healthy they'd consider moving Staal, so yeah. But I wouldn't be shocked if Crosby were healthy that they'd consider moving Malkin too. The price would be a whole lot higher of course.
Braedon Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Relax kid. It was all in fun. I'm laughing with you, not at you. I was laughing at him. Though I'm a sadistic jerk who is incapable of feeling.
Weave Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 I was laughing at him. Though I'm a sadistic jerk who is incapable of feeling. [Homer Simpson loud whisper voice] I was too. I am trying to hide it though. [/Homer Simpson loud whisper voice]
Drunkard Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Why can we only pick one option? We should be able to trade for all 3 of those guys and only lose Sekera, Butler, Boyes, the rights to negotiate with Tim Connolly before July 1st, one of our lesser prospects not named McNabb or Foligno, and a 3rd round draft pick. That should be more than enough to make those other teams happy. Get it done already, Darcy. Do the fans have to think of everything?
LGR4GM Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 Well, I was thinking more like if Crosby and Malkin were healthy they'd consider moving Staal, so yeah. But I wouldn't be shocked if Crosby were healthy that they'd consider moving Malkin too. The price would be a whole lot higher of course. Rumor has it that Malkin is progressing ahead of schedule and has started to workout more and is getting back to full speed, we still have 3months before Pittsburg really has to do anything. The catch is that moving staal relieves less of their cap issues than moving malkin. The other probablem is malkin is worth ennis, myers, some first rounders. And for the record i keep trying to move Pommers because he is are most movable rw. We are not sending stafford anywhere, boyes has much less value so that leaves Pommers as a 60-70pt forward with good defensive awareness. Id put pommers on a line with crosby and neil and watch them all get 80+ pts. Heres a thought, Vanek and a first to pittsburg for malkin. Would anyone do that? We are not getting malkin but just for poops and Popsicles.
Hawerchuk Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Malkin and/or Sharp could be had. Hope Darcy has his radar on these two candidates. Both would be a nice addition to the Swords! Sure you'd have to give up some people, but it could have a tremendous upside. As for Pommer, if Buffalo can surround him with more top vet talent (esp a Centerman) he can be effective and possibly up his point totals. He was great with Dru and Briere on the top two center lines. He is a sniper, but he isn't willing to go in the corners and do the dirty work. A good Centerman will give him more options.
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 its Staal. Not stall. just saying. The arena already has plenty of stalls thank you very much.
Guest Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 I'd look at .... Simon Gagne & Sean Bergenheim from TB Marek Svatos from Ottawa Marcel Goc from Nashville Andrei Markov From Montreal Drew Miller for cheap just to see him play w his brother Jussi Jokinen & Erik Cole & Chad LaRose from Carolina Steve Staios & Alex Tanguay who is a career +155 Tomas Kaberle for the right price. Any two or three of these guys could make a huge difference.
nobody Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 its Staal. Not stall. just saying. The arena already has plenty of stalls thank you very much. But do the stalls have beer shelves?
SwampD Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 But do the stalls have beer shelves? I bet the Staals do.
BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Malkin would not be a good fit. I'm not saying i disagree... but why do you say that?
dudacek Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Who could find room for a 6'4" 100-point scoring centre?
inkman Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Who could find room for a 6'4" 100-point scoring centre? I think his giant oafish frankenstein look will get much criticism. I don't think his production will be the same either. Maybe I'm wrong.
LGR4GM Posted June 12, 2011 Author Report Posted June 12, 2011 I think his giant oafish frankenstein look will get much criticism. I don't think his production will be the same either. Maybe I'm wrong. but don't you think putting him with Vanek and Stafford would increase his production more than hurt it? I mean, he has topped 100 pts twice in his career already and hes still very young. If we had to loose vanek to pittsburg to get Malkin would you do it? I'm saying we loose Vanek a 1st and a defensive prospect like Sekera/Butler/Pysyk maybe, and we just get Malkin. Vanek has 204goals in 469gp Malkin has 158 goals in 352gp - Pittsburgh would save roughly 1.6mil in salary.
drnkirishone Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 I don't think Malkin would be close to the same player here. He disappears for stretches and he has benefited from having Corsby ahead of him at times and Staal playing behind him at others. here he will be the man. I just don't see him handling that good. I see him becoming the Sabres Yashin if we traded for him.

Eleven Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 I think his giant oafish frankenstein look will get much criticism. I don't think his production will be the same either. Maybe I'm wrong. But remember Varadastein?

BuffaloSoldier2010 Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Yeah but here he'll have Stamkos ahead of him. hahahaha! Yessssssss Sabres 2011 projected Top lines Parise Stamkos Vanek Ennis Malkin Iginla Can you dig it?
inkman Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 But remember Varadastein? I really enjoyed Vaclav's time in Buffalo. He was a cleaner, less punky version of Kaleta.
LGR4GM Posted June 13, 2011 Author Report Posted June 13, 2011 Here Malkin will have Roy either behind or in front of him depending on what management wants and also Malkin has never had great wingers to play with and at least Stafford and Ennis/vanek are better than talbot and cooke. Malkin, Pavelski, Dubinsky, Sharp, are there any other Centers who could be available via trade that ppl could think of?
cdexchange Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 hahahaha! Yessssssss Sabres 2011 projected Top lines Parise Stamkos Vanek Ennis Malkin Iginla Can you dig it? Git er dun TnT! * *Terry n' Ted
VanFan85 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Alright so this is my first shot at this so please be kind but here we go. What would everyone think of this trade. Buffalo trade: F Derek Roy F Luke Adam D Mark Pysyk G Jonas Enroth Buf 1st Round pick in 2011 Buf 1st Round Pick in 2012 Colorado trade: F Paul Stastny Col 1st Round pick in 2011 Then..... Buffalo Trade F Jochen Hecht Col 1st Round Pick in 2011 Edmonton Trade Edm 1st Round Pick in 2011 I know it seems like selling the farm but with the prospects we already have in the system it seems like taking a hit for the next couple seasons would be ok. Obviously with the first pick we would take old Nugy and in return i fell like Colorado gets some strong pieces to rebuild with, and edmonton only moving back one spot can still get a quality player (most likely a defenseman which honestly i feel they need more). Hecht I feel would be a bonus to pull off, really you could insert a number of things: Sekeras rights, a 3 Round pick, next years 2nd, But hear me out Hecht is a solid leadership type and with only one year left on his contract Edmonton isnt really straped for cash and could use some leadership for their younger guys. I didnt do the numbers on this because if you pull off including Hecht i believe this actually gives us cap relief. There are a few quality back-up goalies in FA that we could pick up and this leaves you money to go after your big D partner for Myers (Ehroff!!!!!) not to mention then you could easily pick up a Drury or Laich to fill your 3rd line center. Now we have a Center lineup of Nuge, Stastny, Drury/Laich, Goose with some money to go after a Parise if they really feel that compelled. And no i totally didnt come up with this trade in NHL 11 but i am totally curious if it works haha.
